A few features not living up to expectation

We just purchased the Artisan 835 for its multifunctions, attracted to it because of the (supposedly) water-resistant ink, the ability to print on DVDs and (supposedly) from iOS devices (iPhone, iPad).
Haven't used it much to know how good it is in the long run, so this is just an initial review for those interested in the same:
1) The ink is not water proof. With just a little water it will smudge.
2) Despite advertised support for iOS (iPhone, iPad) printing, it will only print photos from the iOS devices. And it appears you have to use photo-sized paper to print (can't print on letter size paper).
3) The output tray is EXTREMELY flimsy. It can't hold more than a few pieces of paper and will probably break within the printer's lifetime. Even for a home printer, I expected better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am attempting to start a home business and this printer does it all. I have used the fax, printed tons of paperwork and photos. One of the nicest things about the Artisan 835, besides the beautiful print quality, is that it is wireless.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Noisiest printer I ever used, period! Amazed considering the cost & the prior use of Epson products (Stylus Photo RX500-stopped working right with Vista, Epsons Photo Papers-great). 835 made cheaply now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just got done setting it up, super easy set up! Although I have not yet used this exact printer I have had Epson printers in the past and they are fantastic printers. Can't wait to start playing around with my new printer.

As Good as It Gets?

I have always had an HP printer. The last 2 I have owned were absolute junk! I have gotten The Epson Artisan 835. It was an ease to set up. Quicker than any of my HP and all of the features work as described!! The quality of the prints are excellent. I am really impressed so far. Keep up the good work and I'll be back.

I am enjoying my Epson/Artisan 835 very much, especially for printing photos,( which is my primary reason for purchasing it). Quality ,for me, is unsurpassed! I love the individual ink cartridges....cleaner lines and photo is clear and bright....Only small problem I have is when only one sheet of paper (8x11) is left, it tends to not feed through for printing....I either have to push it up further in tray or put in more paper.
I would recommend this to a friend!
