So far I'm not impressed with the printer or the service offered. The printer claims to make double sided copies but it does not accept a double sided document. As a result you have to transfer all documents into single sided documents so you can then make a double sided document. Where's the savings in time or paper in that?

Not Reliable AT ALL.

The wifi connection worked for first week after that never work again. We tried diagnosing and it will work for a few days then lose connection again. This printer is NOT reliable and robust when using the wireless feature or networking without cables - which is the main reason why we purchased this all for one printer was to eliminate wires and cables. The most difficult part was that when we submitted the issue to support, 5 months ago, no responses, so therefore, we are stuck with an issue that has no resolution. WOULD NOT recommend this printer if you were looking for something that works reliably on wifi.

The printer always says it is jamed and prints pictures with faint vertical lines about 1" apart. Besides that it works fine.

I researched quite a few AIO printers, narrowing it down to five before going to the store to play with each one before deciding. I picked the EPSON Artisan 835 based on the following: 1. Paper sits in a paper tray under the printer and simultaneously holds both plain and photo paper, so you do not have to change out the paper when switching between plain and photo printing. 2. It has this really cool CD printing tray permanently built in for printing CDs that ejects almost like the tray on your computer. 3. Prints on both sides of the paper (duplex printing). The following limitations of the printer may be reasons to choose a different printer: 1. Does not do duplex scanning. 2. Paper tray does not hold much paper. 3. Average print speed for an ink jet printer. 4. There are other printers that have higher resolution. I have done a couple of test prints and this is what I found: Photos printed beautifully using Epson 4x6 glossy photo paper. Actually look like they were done professionally. I could even tell the difference between the photos I took with my digital SLR and the ones I took with my pocket digital camera. One thing I hate about ink jet printers is the ink running when it gets wet. I heard that Epson had ink that would not run, so this is what I found. Photos did not bleed noticably, when rubbed I could see a light smear form black to white and I noticed some bleeding to the edge of the paper, but when dried with a paper towel, no color came off the picture. This is most likely due to the water resistant nature of the paper because when I tested plain paper the colors did bleed. However, this was not like my old ink jet printer which if it got wet the colors would run down the page, this bleeding resulted in fuzziness. I tested a B/W copy with default settings and black became noticably gray, so the contast may need to be adjusted to get an exact copy. This is easy to do since it appears right before scanning. Setup was easy in windows 7 although I got a known issues warning for the EpsonNet print setup, but I downloaded the latest version from Epson and everything seems fine. Printing from memory cards was very easy although scrolling through pictures was slow at times and some pictures took forever to go from low resolution to high resolution in the preview screen. This may be due to the file size of the hi-rez pictures from my digital SLR. This was not much of a distractor since I could slect from the low-rez preview the picture I wanted to print. So far I am very happy overall and can't wait to test out some more features.

Artisan 835 scanning and printing pictures

I have had the Artisan 835 printer for about six months now, and it has exceeded my expectations. The scanning function has produced some great copies of some pretty old black & white and color imagines. Also, all the color prints I have made are of lab quality. After shopping around for a printer, this was a great choice, the only bad thing I can say about the entire process is; the web site seems to have locked my e-mail address I used when I registered the printer and now I can't get my rewards card with that e-mail address.

Epson Artisan 1 day review

First off I only gave a 4 rating because I have not really used it as yet. I just wanted to give you a heads up on installation. I had no trouble with the install but wanted to give you a heads up with the wireless connection. When you first install the printer, install using the USB cable, that is what I found to be the best option. Then reinstall using the wireless setup using the printer control panel, so it's like setting it up twice (you will see in the directions). Follow the instructions to set up wireless through the printer control panel and it recognizes your wireless network (make sure you have you network turned on while you are installling the software etc). It was so smooth it did not even ask for the wireless name or password. I have used Epson products for years, I have a 1280, 2200, 4880 and now the 835. The 2200 and 4880 print some of the best photo's you could ever imagine, they are wonderful. I also use the Datacolor Spyder 3 software and spectro to calibrate them for the monitor to print calibration and it is working very well. Also the fax setup was snap as well. I anticipate that once I use this I will give it a 5 out of 5, as Epson makes excellent products.

Purchased an Artisan 835 primarily for photo work. Sad to say when I got home it would not do any of the things the sales person told me it would do. I have an IMac with a 10.6 operating system and you CAN NOT scan directly to IPhoto. You must go through Preview and then transfer it to you IPhoto and you are limited to two photos at a time by the printer. Otherwise the printer is fine. I wouldn't buy it for photo work. The store said they would stand behind it, and this one is going back..

I just initiated the printer last night. Was eager to print a couple of photo's (thats why i purchased this printer). I am very disapointed,, there are lines running horizontal thru the picture, faint, but definately there. Not the quality i was looking for.
