I just received the Epson Artisan 835 printer and installed it in less than 1 hour, which includes all of the extra software. The installation was very simply and straightforward. I have printed documents & photos and both printed exceptionally. The scanner and software work very well and quickly. Copying is also very easy with the automatic document feeder. No need to align the documents on the flat glass panel, unless of coarse you wish to do so. I just purchase Epson photo paper as well as bright white paper. I wish for this printer to last as long as my Epson Stylus Color 900 printer which I have for 11 years now and is still working well. I just figured it was about time to get a new printer.

I purchased mainly for the wireless capabilities but spent several hours installing and uninstalling set up software, and still no wireless connectivity; not impressed at all!

Easy software install & fax set-up. The paper tray needs a bit of getting used to as is a sloped paper feed. I am used to a straight in paper feed. The cd print tray is a bit awkward to use as it does not catch the cd easily. Overall to date I am fairly satisfied with this piece of hardware and I have put 3 complete sets of ink cartridges through it to date, mostly printing cd's. High Capacity ink cartriges are difficult to get in my area, but can be ordered in by a local computer shop. Print quality is quite good overall and the cd's dry quite quickly.

State of "Artisan"

The Artisan 835 is absolutely amazing! From box to printing pictures took around 20 minutes. Now, I am able to not only print from my laptop, but, by using the Cloud printing option from Google, I can print from my Cr48 notebook and my DroidX phone! The colors are exceptionally bright and clear since there are six separate ink cartridges. This not only makes for better pictures, it is economical in that a person does not have to replace a half used ink cartridge because one color is used up...and that's just plain smart! I also love the built-in disc drive for printing pictures to disc...what a great idea!
The Artisan 835 is by far the best printer I have ever owned and I have gone through a bunch of them. It's fast, it prints beautifully, it functions seamlessly with multiple computers/phones, and the fax/phone option is fantastic. I would recommend this to every family desiring a multi-functional printer that goes the extra mile.

After loads of research into what is the best graphic design printer that can also handle card stock, I realized that not one printer can do everything. So I began to choose the most needed features for my new graphic art business. I decided on color precision, double sided printing, scanning cabability, wireless, among other standard features. The Epson Artisian 835 has all of those features done very well, plus it handles photos amazingly well. It was very easy to set up and connect to my network. The print output is perfect. I would give this printer five starts because for what it is it is perfect. The only drawback to this printer is that it is limited on paper sizes. It handles letter, legal and photo paper sizes 4x6 and some others. I guess I'd forgotten to check whether odd paper sizes would work like, 17x11 or 12x12. With that said, it is a great printer for a home based graphics business and in the end odd printing projects can be outsourced. The other thing I have not found yet, is the ability to print draft quality prints so that I do not go through my ink so quickly. All in all, this is a truly wonderful printer and I'm very happy with the features it has.

All in all a very nice piece of equipment, does a lot in a little bit of space. Perfect for a home office, does not hold sufficient paper for most office settings. Setup was very cumbersome, Windows 7 conflicts, had to go to Epson site to get updated install and still had problems. Will not scan wirelessly due to conflict with Norton or Lnksys router they could not assist with this problem, gave up and hooked up a cable....works fine. All other functions work fine wireless. Oh, last item, unit has issue with pulling 2-3 pages at a time to print.
