Artisan 835 All in One Printer

I am very disappointed in this printer. I have used Epson printers since 1993 and of all the printers I've had this one is the worst. I don't like the paper feeder, all my other Epsons have been top loading and it doesn't hold as much paper has the top loading machines.
It also takes an act of congress to print a multi-page document back to back. My last Epsons were the RX600 and CX6600 and both made better scanned images.
Plus it goes through ink faster than any printer I've ever had and the ink is more expensive.

I needed to update my all in printer and selected the Artisan 835. It is breeze to set up and works perfectly on the wireless network supporting 3 Macs and 2 Pcs. Great print quality.

Epson Artisan 835

I have been an Epson user for approximately 15 years and in those years I have owned several Epson Inkjet printers. When my old CX9400Fax went south on me I started shopping for a new printer. I found just exactly what I was looking for in my new Artisan 835! It truly is an "All-In-One printer. I not only can print on it, but I also am able to Copy in color or black & white. The other item I was looking for was a unit that also scanned. I found these needs in my Artisan 835. But, what really sold me on this unit is that it also prints labels on my CD's! The print is crisp, and the printer is VERY fast. I really haven't anything yet to complain about except that I wish the paper tray was easier to load. It holds both letter, and legal size paper, but also 4X6 photo paper. For me this is the perfect match for my needs.

Almost good enough

I've used the printer for several months and it prints well; good text, very nice pictures, good scans, good fax. However, photo paper is a problem. The unit makes poor pictures on non-Epson paper, it won't even take some non-Epson papers, and the full range of Epson papers is not stocked locally (and this is Los Angeles). I like to use matte finishes, and that's practically non-existent on the shelves. So, I have to get it shipped in sufficient quantity that I don't run out. Quite annoying. The pictures look great, though.

Good Luck with Epsons so far

I won't be creative in my review. We have owned Epson equipment for many years. The Old Epson Stylus didn't break down, but the price of ink and the desire for a wireless printer drove my decision. I was tired of emailing my documents from my laptop to myself. So, there she sits, finally enabled. It took all morning to get every thing going. Remember when you could install something in 5 minutes? I printed out a project using the double sided option, and it spewed out like a charm. I think I'm quite pleased with this printer.

Artisan 835 Photo Printer

Setup was easy and the colors on photos are a good match for what's on my monitor. Print speed is fast compared to my old R1800. So far ink usage is good and haven't had any clogs. Initially I had multiple paper jams when trying to print photos. Nothing in the documentation helped solve the problem. It turns out the carriage at the back that you remove to print CDs was not seated firmly on one side causing a corner of the paper to catch the roller. It would have been helpful if the setup instructions said to make sure this was seated properly as it could easily come loose in shipping. Once seated I've had no more paper jams.

I just recieved my 835 printer, ease of use is great, no problems, the pictures are fantastic, and the cd print option was my main reason for purchase, it beats the older 300R Epson where I had to load the cd tray align it and hit print, This 835 beats it hands down. Product innovation at its best!, If it just lasts 7 years or longer like my other epson, I will be happy!
