For the most part this has been a great printer, I have owned it for a little over a year. And my point, the gears that drive the document feeder no longer work and it is just out of warranty--no more faxing. Epson could have used better quality in the document feeder. Other than that, easy to set up on a wireless network and it prints nicely.

It was so easy to set up the WiFi. I haven't had any problems printing from any room in my house. The print quality is excellent.

I have only used my Epson Artisan 835 a few times due to the fact I can NOT get the wireless to work . It worked the first day I set up, but since then will only work if I connect with a usb to my laptop. I really like the quality of pictures I printed & look forward to getting it working properly. I enter pictures in competitions & feel I can use these with confidence. My printer is Artisan 835 but it keeps showing 830 on my computer, can this be a problem with set up?

I am totally delighted with the 835. The photo quality has blown me away, it is absolutely gorgeous. Set up was really easy, just followed the directions. The speed and overall quality is world class. I like the idea of the photo and copy trays being together rather than two separate trays. The large touch screen is way cool. This is the best printer I have purchased. I recommend the 835 to anyone. And it is good looking on top of everything else.

The printer is sleek and stylish looking. The print quality for my purposes (home photography and general printing) is excellent. As a MAC user, it was relatively easy to set up and instructions were clear. The only con I have so far is the quality of the flimsy slide out output tray and the cheap flip up stopper. I am worried that it will break down the road. Overall it was a bargain, much better quality print than the other brand printer I previously used.

As a Mac user I always hesitate setting up new equipment because most products concentrate on the Windows platform and using their software is sometimes an awful experience. However, I was pleasantly surprised how good the supplied Mac software and drivers were with the Artisan 835 and the setup was simple. I setup the printer on my secure network without a glitch. However, the method of entering the number and letter combination's for the secure network was a bit tedious but I got through it. It's really the only negative thought so far about this printer.
I purchased this printer mainly for it's CD/DVD printing and the WIFI capabilities. My first DVD print was stunning! I am really happy. I would have given this printer 5 stars if the replacement ink wasn't so darn expensive.

Epson 800 and 835 owner

I owned the Epson Artisan 800 for 2 years, no problrems, the best printer ever made. The photo quality is unsurpassed, the features are endless and simple to use. It fit every task I ever asked it to do. But...I struggled the last month with it, and after hours of frustration, replaced it with the Artisan 835 (yes, it was that good for 2 years that I replaced it with the same model). The 800/835 hogs ink so much, I decided to buy non-OEM ink for the 800, and it worked well. But then I got ink pad full warnings (from doing cleanings), then it no longer worked (ink pad counter was end of life). The heads went bad at the same time. These are errors where the machinme cannot be repaired. I cleaned the ink pads (nor recommended), reset the ink pad counter (again, not recommended), cleaned the heads by forcing warm water thru it, no luck. After that, I bought and love my new 835. I probably will use only the VERY expensive Epson ink this time.
