Fax does not work

If you want a 4 in 1 machine and use a fax frequently, don't purchase this machine. Fax is worthless. It you don't use a fax machine appears to work fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy Setup

Have always used Epson printers. First time using a 4-In-One. Easy setup, connected to my Airport network without a problem. Only concern...will the paper tray and guides hold up? Hopefully the flexible plastic will have some give and won't crack or snap. Anxious to get started and see final printouts of all the offered photo projects. The test page printed out with a crisp, clear and colorful result.

I love it. Pictures and documents from my laptop in an instant. Copy documents, just like at work. Haven't scanned anything yet, but I am sure that will be great too.

I'm 52 years old and not too "techy;" but I had read another review from a 70-year-old who installed this printer, and I was NOT to be outdone. So, with my kids laughing at me and taking pictures, I followed the easy instructions and had absolutely NO PROBLEMS setting it up. They were AMAZED! I was SOOO glad the instructions did not just include pictures, but actually the written word--in ENGLISH. The print quality is awesome. I LOVE IT!

I received my Artisan 835 yesterday and I already love it. I was surprised at how easy it was easy to install. I've only had it one day but I've used the printer, HD photo, and fax several times already and I just finished scanning some old pictures to my laptop. They all work GREAT!!! My photo's came out awesome, but I knew they would because I also have an Epson Stylus Photo R380 and it always produces great pictures. I am going to keep it as a spare.
Recently, I found myself in need of a new copier and fax machine and I wanted a scanner to add old pictures to my laptop. After doing a lot of research, the Artisan 835 had everything all-in-one that I was looking for, including great ratings, WI-FI and compatibility with my MacBook Pro.
This is my second epson printer and it won't be my last!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent quality and value

I've owned several Epson printers and all have been excellent. This one was set up and running in about a half hour, including wireless networking. I printed from my Mac, from a CF flash card from my camera, and the print quality is fantastic. I've used both 4 x 6 and letter size photo paper and the feed has been good. The first few sheets of letter size paper did consume a fair amount of ink, which they said would happen. I would recommend this printer to anyone who needs an easy to use, inexpensive inkjet.

Two Sides of the Story

After reviewing all major AIW printers for MAC, the 835 met or exceeded most of my criteria for home use. Lots of good features together with excellent print resolution and color rendition, especially for photos. Set-up and operation are straight-forward from both a computer and the printer control panel. Print menu offers lots of useful settings to meet most text and photo requirements.
However, one of my most important criteria is compromised, probably as with any inkjet home/office printer. Duplex printing is really slow, maybe to allow time for ink to dry between printing backside pages (3 minutes per 2 sided page). That's fifteen minutes to print 5 2-sided pages.
There's a manual work-around, but then why have the duplex feature? Also it would be a nice feature to be able to manually feed one page for printing the back side of page one with a page from a second document without having to remove and reinsert the paper tray.
