Printing Issues

I recently purchased this printer and had a big deadline with work. I went to print the spreadsheet and it left off the last column. Went to print pictures and a half of the picture was off the page. Could not fix it!

I am not happy with this Epson 835 Artisan purchase as I am comparing it to an HP All in one previously used for personal use; print functions are not as easy to use with Epson as compared to HP and the Epson print quality for printing text documents is quite a bit less than to be desired as compared to HP.

Challenges of my Epson 835 printer

Actually, I received my Epson 835 printer as a gift from my sister who had never connected it. When I first set it up, it would not print successfully. After several nozzle cleanings, head cleanings etc., it does print beautifully. I have not been successful in connecting it to the network so I have to unplug my laptop and take it over by the printer to print anything. I had A4 paper in it and it was printing on the letter paper just fine, but suddenly it decided to print on the A4 paper, yet all the settings were still set for the letter paper. Removing the A4 paper solved the problem, but I am sure this is not the correct solution.

Nice-looking. If only it worked!

This seemed like a great deal. I went through the lengthy setup procedure, and then found that the machine was unresponsive. The Power light was lit, but the control panel was dark. Nothing I did would get it to work. Back it goes today. I don't want to waste any more time trying to get another one to work.

The Artesan 865 is easy to use and procues quality printing including photos. It does all this at a tremendous speedl There are so many good features it takes a while to learn how to use them all.

I was all excited to set up my wireless epson and start printing from any room in the house when I started the printer up and it COULDN'T even make it through the initializing part of the set up because the ink that was provided was EMPTY cartridges. I couldn't believe it and of course I was printing after every store in the area was closed....big time inconvenience ....

Stay Away from This Printer

The Artisan Series Printers replaced the old RX Series - BIG MISTAKE! The Artisan printers work great if you want to scan, fax, print on CDs or print ONLY ON THE THINNEST COPY PAPER ON THE MARKET. The front-loading paper feature is a complete joke. If you want to spend hours trying to get your printer to feed any type of paper other than the thinnest of copy paper, then this printer is for you. However, if you want to print on presentation paper, photo paper, note card paper... stay away from this printer. Epson front loading paper feeder equals a big waste of money.
