The Epson 835 is the best All-In-One I have ever had. It prints brilliant photos, very clear documents and is easy to scan and fax
I have been using Epson Artisan printers for the last couple of years. My first Artisan was the Artisan 800 and my current printer is the Artisan 835. The printer I have has a auto-duplex attachment which reduced my paper usage and paper costs. The setup of the printer is documented well and took less than 15 minutes to set up the printer, load the print cartridges, attach to the network, and install the print drivers and included software. With the press of a button the LCD control panel will rotate up or down for easy viewing. The LCD control panel is large with great contrast colors which makes it easy to read and perform your tasks. The printed text is sharp whether printing in text-and-picture, text, or draft modes. When printing in draft mode the text is sharp but not as dark which is what is expected. When printing pictures the color is vibrant and rich whether 4x6 or 8x10 pictures. We love the scan feature which which allows scanning while standing at the printer or from a computer connected to my home network in another room through wireless or ethernet connections. The scanned images or text can be scanned to a usb drive or memory card connected to the printer or to a computer hard drive or if desired to a usb, or memory card connected to the computer. Scanned documents can be scanned as OCH, PDF, or text documents. The PDF and OCH scans are able to be set up so that multiple pages are scanned into the same document. The CD label print option will print directly on to a printable CD without the use of a seperate label. The hard wired ethernet and wireless features work very well and allow printing and scanning from anywhere, or any room, that has a wireless connection or in the case of ethernet, an ethernet port to plug into the network. The multi-sheet feeder works well whether just copying or for scanning multiple sheet documents. I have experienced just one paper jam with the multi-sheet feeder. I followed the directions in the manual to easily clear the paper jam. The printer has also had just one jam while printing which once again was quickly and easily cleared. The output shelf for printed documents is easily extended while printing and if desired, retracted when printing is complete. The output shelf could be a little stiffer but that might make it less flexible and thereby more bulky. I use high capacity print cartridges so that the ink lasts longer. I do a lot of printing but the cost of Artisan ink has been minimal compared to other printers I have owned in the past. There are six ink color cartridges. I have found that ordering the high capacity ink through Epsons' web site is easy and costs less than going to the local store. It has saved time, gas, costs, and the ink is delivered to my door.

Artisan 835 not working with Ipad. Its ok with win

The printer works fine with windows computers.
However Epson connect is a real problem. It sees the printer on the network and properly identifies it. However the profile can not be saved rendering all the time spent in setup, useless.
Do not buy this printer if you have IPads.

Great Print, Paper handling problems

This is my 6th epson printer and feature wise it provides a great versitility and outstanding color clarity. The only downside is paper handling. I have had feeder problems from day one on any stock that is heavier than normal. Other epsons previously offered single sheet feed and that eliminated any of the non standard situations. Everything on this model has to go through the tray and heavier photo stock or even midweight card stock is a gamble on whether it will work or not.

I bought a new Artison 835 and had a very hard time getting a drive that worked. Installation was not easy. Took a week and a lot of looking for driver. Should be more atomatic.

Epson Artisan 835

This is my second 835. I also had a 710 for quite awhile and when it wore out I called Epson and they gave me the info to buy an 835 as a replacement for a great price. It is the best overall printer I've owned. Not only does it print beautiful pictures, in a hurry I might add, it scans with lots of options, it faxes without a thought including the excellant OCR software that's included, does a great job printing DVDs and Cds, and sets up wirelessly in a flash.
