Epson = Quality

My Epaon HD projector is so stunningly better than my Panasonic that it prompted me to give Epson printers a try. Well, I was NOT disapointed! I have had a few HP printers, a few Canons and the Epson reigns supreme - by orders of magnitude. I have never seen colour photos reproduced in such detail, clarity and with such accurate colour. Another thing I noticed, the printer is very heavy, much heavier than my wireless (and buggy) HP that I put down at the curb after less than a year. Can't say enough about this printer. One last point: I NEVER take the time to write reviews on products. Highly recomended.

It took about 4 days for me to connect (wirelessly) to my laptop (I was missing a Windows "driver" that I had to download from Windows. But, once connected Its been printing up like a dream. Fantastic quality & ease of use. I'm not a very computer literate person, so it took a while to figure out the connectivity issue - but its very easy to use once its established.

Good printer but paper problems

Very good print quality. Very easy to set up on my Macbook Pro. My friend has one also and I was able to wirelessly print from hers without any set up. Easy to use. Only Con: Regularly (maybe 1 in every 35-40 sheets) feeds two pieces of paper through at the same time, and when doing so, some of the text may print on the edges of the second page. So that page must be reprinted, wasting time, paper, and ink. My friend also has this occur with hers. Overall, would recommend to a friend.

The printer does a good job with documents. I like being able to adjust print quality so I can conserve ink. Photographs are very good. I get many compliments on the quality and color saturation.
The document tray is thinner than I would like but treating it delicately, I have had no problems to date.

Quick color prints

I have used various Epson printers and scanners since 2005. For large professional prints I use an Epson Stylus Pro 7800, however, for quick 8 x 10 glossies, I have found the Artisan 835 to be invaluable. As a professional photographer, I print my own work and find the Artisan 835 quite impressive for its printing quality. I use an Epson V750 Pro for scanning purposes so I cannot comment on the scanning capabilities of the 835, nor do I use it for fax purposes. My clients like the quality of the 8 x 10's and 5 x 7 prints I furnish them for review. It replaced an Epson Stylus Photo RX680, a printer that was replaced twice under warranty; hence, I could not rely on it for professional purposes. I heartily recommend the Artisan 835 for photo printing purposes.

I love Epson Products

I recently purchased another Epson printer to add to the other 4 I have purchased in the past. I think that Epson is a fantastic supplier of professional and home use printers and papers that I have not been able to match elsewhere. Being a desktop professional I have encountered many. This is the first time I have set up a home wireless connection for an all-in-one printer and found one major draw back. The security levels on some routers inhibit the signal from sending back and forth. It took around 10 hours of working with the router manufacturer and Epson to correct the signal problem. But was able to have success by sheer determination (it was my wife's birthday present). I was impressed with the service that both the router manufacturer and Epson supplied in this endeavor. Tenacity is the word if you encounter this issue. But I love the ability that I have in using the Artisan 835 from all 3 work stations in my home wireless network.

OK, it's only three days old so this is a first impression review. So far, excellent. Installed easily. The driver on the CD caused Microsoft to identify it as one with a compatibility problem but a web page came up with a newer one so it all installed fine from there. Just don't tell it to install the bad one. (I'm running Windows7 Ultimate) Printing is quick, smooth, quiet with excellent quality. Haven't printed any pictures yet. I've used the FAX and it worked perfectly. The feeder/scanner works smoothly and I like the fact it folds up out of the way. Less likely someone will lean on it and break it. The paper tray is a little odd by "normal" standards but the documentation is clear and it works fine once you understand it. I'm running it on a network and it works great. No complaints and the price was fantastic. Recommended!!!!

Disappointed

I still cannot get the wireless networking to work and I've been at it for four months. Printing from an ethernet cable produces nice quality prints, but I still want to be able to print form my PC laptop without problems. After all my trouble, which is still unresolved, I wouldn't recommend this printer.
