Was disapointed that the 835 prints 2 sided but would not copy two sided with auto feed on top. My 635 will auto feed and print on two sides. The bright side is it does pictures better.

Setup of the printer and installing the software were as easy as ABC. Fast, crisp and clean print. A lovely machine for the price.

Next Gen of a Great Printer

I've owned the Artisan 800 for several years and I loved it. However, the design Epson chose, with the ink pads (not cartriges) not being owner-replaceable, yet having a fixed life, is EXTREMELY poor. Once they are "saturated" the printer simply refuses to print. The only reason I purchased the next in this series is the investment I already have in INK.
To that end, when I installed the replacement, I wanted to use the already-opened, yet still nearly-full cartriges I had from my previous printer. However, the printer initialization will ONLY work with the new ones that came with the printer, meaning that the ones I have will be sitting and drying out until these are done. That's another really poor design on Epson's part.
Print quality is fabulous and speed is excellent. Network-and-USB installation is really nice - gives best of both worlds when you have a primary desktop machine but also want to print over the network.

good printer but confusing setup

Well, I THINK I have it working correctly. Nice printer, but setup was a bit confusing. I consider myself pretty good at following directions when installing printers and other hardware. Hooking up this printer had me pretty confused. Directions were not that clear. Regardless, I have it hooked up wirelessly on my home network, and seems to be printing from all 3 pc's on the network. Only 3 stars because of installation, otherwise a 5 star rating.

This printer has replaced my Epson 980 printer which finally died after more than a dozen years of service. So far it's working great.
