String feed is lousy

This is the 2nd trimmer I've purchased - the first one (I thought was single string, it was a duel. Guess it was my error. The 2nd one I just received on the 15th.) Just began to edge and the string was gone? Tried to get it to feed per instruction book - nothing. I am a 75 year old female and have been dragging a corded trimmer around. Thought how nice and easy this would be! Wrong! I couldn ' t get the spool lid off, my 78 year old dis-abled husband helped, got the line back out. Five minutes using it the same thing happened.
I have a Greenworks mower and blower that I love, so figured the string trimmer would be great too!
Definitely not happy and do not recommend it.

If the string is not feeding this could indicate that there is not enough line or a tangle on the spool. Please remove the battery, remove the spool cover and spool, unwind the spool and rewind, ensuring that the line is not tangled. To advance the line, stop and restart the trimmer. Upon starting, the line will automatically advance 1/4" (6.4 mm). Each time you want to advance the line you must release the trigger for about two seconds and upon starting line should advance.

Impossible to get spool replacement

Bought 2 month go and it's came without replacement spool. Part number for spool technical support providing 2930102 not correct. Impossible to order and even put back order.

Don't waste your money on this!

I got this trimmer as a deal with my GW mower. The convenience and freedom of going cordless was very appealing. However, from the time of its very first use, this piece of crap has been nothing but frustrating. No matter how many times you bump the spool (pro tip...DO NOT BUY A BUMP TRIMMER!) the dual lines constantly end up retreating inside the trimmer causing you to have to constantly stop, open up the spool, and reset them, only to have it happen again minutes later. I have read and re-read the manual, watched countless videos, and attempted to fix this thing numerous times to no avail. Bottom line...it's JUNK, plain and simple.

Hello there,

We're sorry you're having issues with the line feed on your GreenWorks string trimmer. If the line keeps retreating back into the spool housing this may indicate the line is snapping at long lengths and the spool has been wound the wrong way.

First, always have the guard on the unit. There's a blade on the guard that helps to maintain the length of the line.
Second, ensure you do not leave any line on the notches. The notches are design for storage and will prevent line feed if the line is not released from the notches.
Third, check and ensure you are winding both lines the correct way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this product for some time now and it’s been great! The mower is lightweight and easy to use, the weed eater slices like butter, and the leaf blower is the best I’ve ever owned!

Unusable Battery Life

Fresh out of the box not even able to cut my lawn for 15 minutes until it runs out of battery. Just enough to make you mad that you started to begin with and your yard looks worse than if you hadn’t done anything. I can only imagine the 5 Star reviews are bot reviews or people living in Barbie’s dream house sized mowing areas. Truth be told it’s a waste of money and even getting a second set of batteries won’t solve the problem as the charging time VASTLY outweighs the run time. Will be looking to return

The 48v self-propelled lawn mower cuts up to 1/2 acre when using the (2) fully charged 5Ah batteries (included). The maximum advertised run time is based on no load. It is important to recognize that the Runtimes can vary depending on a few factors, including but not limited to if the self-propel feature is used throughout the entire cut, grass texture and consistency, cutting height, and lawn size. Please note, users must use (2) fully charged Greenworks 24V battery packs. Do not use battery packs other than Greenworks 24V. Ensure both batteries are charged 100%. If each battery has a different charge state, the run-time of the machine is subject to the lowest powered battery (For example: one battery is charged 100%, and the other is charged 50%, the unit will only run until the 50% battery is depleted). When using (2) batteries with different amp hours (Ah), the machine will run until the lower (Ah) battery is depleted. .
