Based on reviews I wasn't certain that this would be non-stick. One of the reviewers said they used butter in their recipe and it did not stick. I also use butter and, voila, no sticking. Oddly enough, the recipe that comes with the waffle maker does not use butter. So I recommend finding one that does. It baked perfectly and no mess.

This is our first waffle maker and I am pleased that I bought the Cuisinart. It make perfect waffles and the settings are very accurate. Clean is a breeze, even when I overfilled and it spilled outside the first time I made one. Also is made to store well standing up. Only downside for me is there is no sound indicator when the waffle is done, so you can 't walk away while it is being cooked. That's a small thing compared to the quality of the waffles it produces.
