Excellent waffle quality is attained with this economy model maker. The ready light is accurate, and is especially nice for knowing when to start making the first waffle. The browning slider seems a little loose. I set it between between 2 and 3 for the perfectly browned, slightly crispy exterior.

Using the recommended 1/2C pour it will still ooze out the side. There doesn’t seem to be any way to prevent this - this model doesn’t have a mechanism to move batter to empty spaces. So you either leak out or have tiny waffles. My old iron was sauté shaped so I still got round ones but plenty of room for the batter to run to so no leaks.
The top and bottom also don’t seem to line up - there is a slight shift to the right. It doesn’t seem intentional but it doesn’t seem to impact the shape of the waffles.
Otherwise, this is a quick and easy way to get classic waffles. The basic recipe included in the booklet tastes great, but doesn’t crisp up if you like that.
I have no clue how anyone can make a waffle look like the one in their photo using this iron.
