Not as user friendly as previous model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Whirlpool microwave oven. I also had several Whirlpool stoves, dishwashers, and refrigerators. Needless to say, I like Whirlpool products. Although this new microwave model is a direct replacement for the previous model I had (lasted 9 years) and fit the old brackets exactly, I don't like the updated features of this one. It is much more user UN-friendly. The reheat options have changed, none of which are much help now. The cook time and power selections are not as easy to program as the last model. When cooking is done and you take the food out, the display does not return to the home screen like the previous model did. It stays lit asking if you want to add more time, so that you now have to hit the cancel button. Overall, it takes more button pressing steps that are not neccesary. I'd like to know what engineer thought these changes were a good idea. I'm sure they didn't ask real consumers!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The touchpad is very prone to fingerprints. It's also touchy. when wiping off, it often activates a button. When time is done, it's annoying to have to open the door to be able to add time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quality build, appealing aesthetics, gentle sounding alerts, calm lighting, effective but quiet venting. Perfect for our remodeling project.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave replaced a much older Whirlpool microwave that had provided solid service. I appreciate the pleasant chime-like sounds of the new unit: less harsh than the older bleeps. The interior is also a big improvement. Much easier to keep clean. The control pad options are more intuitive and easy to use. Hopefully this until will prove to be as reliable as the one it replaced.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First the signal that the unit is done is far too quiet, even when turned up to max. Button pushing us monotonous, after food is done I shouldn't have to cheat it again after removing prodict.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit works well as needed. Looks great too. Very hard to see the actual touch pad buttons when light is limited. Sure would be nice if they were back lit, at least for a moment when you touch the pad...anywhere.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Heats items quickly and throughout. Buttons are easy to get used to using. Timer is a pleasant tone. Inside wipes down easily.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave replaced another Whirlpool microve that was in perfect condition. We just liked the features on this. The no stick interior makes cleaning a breeze. So many programmed cooking functions. Has 1, 2, and 3 minute one-touch programmed cook cycles. Only issue is end of cycle notification is not working. It keeps but barely audible. Have to call service to get this, addressed.
