After I called GE to get a technician out to fix my brand new fridge I had to wait 3 weeks for an appt. My freezer broke after 1 month. The ice buildup is immense and I can’t use it. Lost everything that was in there. Don’t buy! GE a mess to deal with to fix which is like putting salt on an open wound.

Hello, thank you for your review. We are very sorry that your refrigerator's freezer stopped operating properly so soon into its lifespan and required a service appointment to repair and that you lost your stored food. Our appliances are built to last and this is not something we would expect to hear. Please know that we value your business and apologize for any unexpected inconvenience this may have caused. We sincerely hope to have a chance to earn back your trust and business in the future. -Chris@GEA
Replaced the failing Cafe with a Profile (what we had in our previous home). To us a definite upgrade. Took 3 hours to unwrap and hooked up water using our old hose which (fortunately) we had kept. One fruit/veggie drawer is slightly awry but all else is just what we ordered. Will eventually replace all our current GE Cafe with Profile. Had entire Profile Suite in our previous kitchen and much prefer to Cafe.
We have had this for a few days and are strongly considering selling it. It is just too loud! I measure it at 68 db at the rear, about half way up, and it runs at this volume for hours. There's a low hum, and some high frequencies in there too. Our house is very quiet in the morning, so this noise can clearly be heard from the bedroom, to the point of waking me up.
This is actually our second unit: they replaced the first one for the same reason, but they both measured exactly the same volume of noise.
I haven't heard any sudden noises, this is just a continuous hum, so I think its the compressor. I have no idea why GE thinks this is an acceptable level of noise from a modern appliance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
