My new stove is wonderful. Controls are so easy to handle, the surface heats quickly and I can set control dials to the exact heat for cooking.

Great cooktop

I love this cooktop! When we moved into our current house, the cooktop that was here cracked after using it twice (it was fairly old). We replaced it with this one. That was 5 years ago. The only reason we had to replace it again was because I dropped a giant glass measuring cup on the corner of it and it shattered. Totally my fault! I liked it so much we replaced it with the exact same one. It's very easy to use and keep clean.

Easy replacement and installation

Easy installation, since my previous cooktop was also GE. Fairly basic cooktop, nothing fancy, but truly functional.

GE products not as good as they used to be

I would not recommend this product. The front main burner that we use every day has already gone bad and it's not even a year old. This did not happen on our last stove top for 15 years. This causes me to lose faith in the rest of the burners, and I'd prefer a replacement, but I'm guessing they will only repair it. Also, this stove top seems to take forever to heat up, but once its hot, its really hot. We find the same thing with GE's Double Oven. They just are not making these the way they used to.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
