1st I'm going to say I love these lights. 2 out of my 3 strands of my 50ft set work great. But one stand is definitely defective. The defective strand dims intermittently. At first I questioned if it was just part of the different lifts settings but no, there is definitely an issue going on. The annoying part is that the defective strand is at the highest point of my roof. ! Let's see how well Govee stands behind their warranty.
We are very happy with the ease of installation and the final look. We were also very pleased with ease of using the app and changing the colors of the lighting. We appreciated having a clip for every light, and were impressed with the durability of the 3m adhesive. I do recommend taking your time and plan out your lights in the peaks of your roof.
The only reason I couldn't give this 5 stars didn't really have to do with the lights themselves persay, rather with Govee. I ran into the same problem as usually with Govee string lights, the lenghts avialable. You're always either too long, or just short. Govee needs to offer like, 5' and 10' sections you can add on. They offer a 16' foot but that's drastic. What about when your just short that it looks silly but you don't want to another 50' or 100'? This is something the company needs to offer and it would make things much easier in these situations.
I am very impressed with how amazing these lights look. I got the 100' kit and love how they look on the house. Installation was very easy other than working off a 24' extension ladder with bees buzzing around but the low roof went very quick. After installing the first 3 strands along the upper roof keeping the lights spaced as far apart as they could be, I plugged them in and played around with all the different patterns. Seeing how bright they are at night and even in the day, I decided to not continue the lights around the side of my house where they might be annoying for the neighbors. Instead I hung them along the front porch and tried putting the lights closer together so I could fit two strands and have pretty even spacing. So far they have exceeded my expectations and I can't stop playing with all the different colors and patterns! I haven't quite figured out how to fully use the DIY thing to make custom patterns yet but I'll get there. Wondering if there's any way to download other people's designs or maybe add more scenes somehow?
The brightness and colors of these lights are amazing. Exceptionally easy to setup and secure easily to aluminum soffits. I would like it if they sold a permanent bracket to use with rivets or self taping screws just for peace of mind. The app is easy to use and allows a decent amount of customization. I do wish they allowed you to line up the light on the horizontal plane, meaning I have 2 roof peaks that overlap and i would like to have them mirror each other. Overall, no regrets, just a minor wishlist.
