We are happy with the performance of this hood after a month of ownership. This is a marked improvement over our previous hood, which was also rated at ~900cfm. Lesson learned - do not rely on cfm/suction numbers as claimed, since there is really no testing standard and therefore no basis for direct comparison between manufacturers. This hood is quiet, has good suction, and has features that suit our purposes well.
Pros: -Good suction power, even at setting 3 -Depth is ideal to cover most range front burners -Relatively quiet at all settings compared to previous hood and microwave/hood combos from our experience -Convenient to remove and clean grease traps Cons: -Relatively heavy. Good idea to recruit a 2nd person for installation. -Combination of depth and our cabinet height places hood at head-smacking level for me. Your results will likely vary. -Very sharp edges inside require care when installing -Slight noise from grease trap due to vibrations at highest settings.
We have bought this product for over 2 years when moving to our new house and for our renovation. It has been working perfectly and consistently with great power and the steam auto-clean function is convenient, saving a lot of time. We use the kitchen everyday, frying, steaming and stewing, and never have to suffer the smell during cooking. Highly recommended with a balanced prece and quality.
This range has amazing capabilities and looks great. Our kitchen is no longer greasy and the cooking smells no longer fill the house. This is an excellent product.
I bought this products several years ago, great products, it is the best one comparing all of others I used before, I am Chinese who cooks a lot, i do not have any oily smell in my small kitchen.
I’ve had this unit for a little over 2 years, cleaning the hood is easy. However, do use caution when inserting and removing the water tray, my water pump got pushed into the unit.
I bought this a few months ago and had to wait (impatiently) for the contractor to get to the installation. I've had it installed for over a month now and it is probably the best kitchen upgrade that I've made so far.
I'm just a home cook but I sear, wok, broil and often burn stuff. My old vent system was one of those built in microwave filtering system that just weakly recirculates the air. My smoke alarm was going off so often I ended up purchasing a pack of what I call "smoke alarm shower caps". I would slip one on my alarm before a stir-fry to reduce the chances of my husband having to stand in the hallway way and resetting the alarm multiple times while I cooked dinner. Then I'd wake up in a panic in the middle of the night realizing that I'd forgotten to remove the cap, so I essentially had a non-functioning smoke detector.
I hunted around, read reviews, ordered this model and had the contractor install it. It works like a dream and my smoke detector is able to quietly monitor the air without screeching a few times a week because I dared to cook. I've not used the steam clean feature (yet) but I've attached the plastic "trough" a few times just to familiarize myself with it and will probably do my first clean later on this month.
I absolutely recommend this range hood for the great job it does but also for the aesthetics, too. It looks nice in my simple kitchen.
