I have had my second Dyson now for about 3-4 months. 1 thing that is great is the suction, other than that I could leave it! Too heavy, doesn't fit under anything, doesn't like to stay locked in upright position because the ball is too big, not easy to take apart and put back together, very awkward on stairs when using the attachment, I could go on but why.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you're not having a better experience with your Ball Animal Complete 3. It's unusual to hear that it isn't staying locked into the upright position for you. There will generally be two clicks that you should get when putting the vacuum into the upright position. These clicks are not always noticeable unless put into the upright position at a slower speed. I would recommend putting the unit into the upright position at a slower pace in order to listen to the clicks that occur in order to troubleshoot the problem. One click will be the wheels of the vacuum going into place. The second click will be the wheels locking into place. It is important to ensure the second click occurs as without the second click, stabilizer wheels are not able to lock securely into place.

Very nice vacuum

Love this vacuum so far. The hose attachment is a little awkward to use. They should make the hose attachment towards the bottom, so it won’t tip over. Overall my favorite vacuum.

Decent vacuum but needs better hose

I had a Dyson animal for 16 years. After it broke I replaced it with the new model. The suction is good and turning is great. The only complaint I have is that the hose is so tight and does not stretch far. The canister plastic also seems to be made of a cheaper material than my old vacuum.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So, the previous model I had had a 14 inch head. Now it is less then 12 inches, which makes it harder to turn, and covers less on each pass. Really a poor decision of them to make this change.

difficult to use

Wand is awkward to detach and the hose is stiff and difficult to extend. I can't use the grooming attachment because I'm afraid the vacuum will tip over onto my dog because the hose is trying to spring back into closed position. The vacuum is very short and the loop handle means it's only good for a limited hight range. I'm 8'9" and it's very awkward. It can clean carpet well and the hair remover on the beater bar is nice. The hose makes all the attachments unusable so if you are debating between models don't count on attachments.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The hose will be rather stiff or awkward to use on your machine at first. I can confirm that we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. A few tips we can provide would be attaching your accessories directly to your hose, as this will also help expedite stretching the elasticity of the hose. Dyson vacuums are engineered with versatility in mind and attachments may be used on either the wand or directly on the machine itself for added convenience. Overall the vacuum is great with the exception of the wand/hose. The inside diameter is about half of the size that it should be. This needs to be addressed for future models.
