Truly the best

Old house, carpet, single pane windows, desert sand, wind, 3 dogs and 1 cat . . . and my Dyson Ball Animal 3 gets it all seamlessly and without any hair stuck on the roller. Absolutely amazing!! I love it.

Never used a vacuum better than this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Multiple cats and multiple long-haired humans: this vacuum couldn't care less as it cleans carpets, hardwood, and upholstery with equal ease. Easily maneuverable into tight corners and around furniture, it's light enough to carry up stairs and flexible enough to help remove the odd cobweb from ceiling level. We had as previous Animal Ball, and this is an upgrade in every respect.

Don't bother with this one

This is my second Dyson vacuum cleaner. My first one, a DC 14, still has great suction, but the carpet beater bar no longer works and I can't get replacement parts any longer. in my opinion, this model is inferior to my original vacuum. It has weak suction and is very awkward to use. The wand is hard to re attach to the frame and I find the hard floor attachment to be almost useless due to the poor design and weak suction of the unit. The only piece I like is the dog grooming attachment that came with the vacuum. I am extremely disappointed in this unit, especially considering the price. I still use my old model DC 14 for everything but the carpets.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This model features the most powerful suction among our line of uprights, so it's highly unusual to hear that there is weak or little suction power. Your older DC14 model offers suction power of 250 air watts, and the Ball Animal 3 offers 290 air watts of suction so you should be noticing that it's a bit more powerful. Loss of suction can be caused by a blockage some place within your machine and we'd be happy to help. Heavy & bulky

The vacuum is a 10 for suction, but almost everything else sucks. This is extremely heavy & bulky to move around. Simple things like a lighted front would help to see while vacuuming. The hose is so stiff & not long enough. Why doesn’t added floor attachments just go on the front versus attached to hose? The cord gets in the way constantly & like I said the vacuum is no lightweight. I removed the main front attachment thinking that is where I attach the other floor attachment, & now it doesn’t stay on. I search endless videos online to find answers & demonstrations & hardly any for my model. I have always wanted a Dyson, but dissatisfied I bought now. I have a large home, & to thoroughly clean, it can take at least 45 min. I debated on the cordless, but did not want to chance spending more money only to have the battery not last while vacuuming.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This machine features the most powerful suction among our line of upright vacuums. We can confirm that the hose will be rather stiff the first few times you use it. We would expect for that to become more pliable with frequent use and stretching. For added versatility, any of the included tools or attachments may be used on the end of the hose, or the end of the wand. The only thing that should be attached to the front or base of the machine is the cleanerhead. The tools/attachments will not, and are not intended for use there We would be happy to walk you through reaching the cleaner head to the base. Great Suction

Love this vacuum. It does a fantastic job getting the hair up from my golden retriever and 3 cats. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the hose for stretching the vacuum up the stairs does not come close to the full length advertised. At the full length stretched I can’t get to the last 2-3 steps and at that point the vacuum falls over and starts getting pulled up the stairs. FYI I also find that the upholstery attachment gets the animal hair out of the stair runner rug and carpet better than the stair tool. By the way the upholstery tool is unbelievably amazing. It makes quick work out of getting cat hair off chairs and couches. Truly awesome! This vacuum is so amazing that the less than stellar stair hose does not keep me from loving it. I am truly in love with this vacuum. I am very happy with this purchase. I do hope Dyson will lengthen the stair hose though. It would then be perfect!!

Dyson always delivers

This is my 3rd ball! Love the extra long cord and ease of cleaning. I still have my old ones and they work fine. The latch to empty the cartridge sticks but the vacuum is 12 yrs old. Also love my Dyson hairdrying equopment!

Love the new roller bar

Have had this since June. 2 long haired cats were constantly clogging the rollerbar of our last Dyson. I would have to cut the hair off the bar during vacuuming. Took a chance and couldn’t be happier. I’ve not had to clean the bar yet!
