Not as good as my old Dyson

I bought this a few months ago so have had plenty of time to try it. Overall I am disappointed. It is much louder and less maneuverable than my last Dyson I had for 10+years. The attachments aren’t very helpful and the wand requires a lot of stent to use as it is heavy and not very flexible. It does have great power and gets the job done but its pretty expensive for a vacuum that feels like a workout and annoys me every time I use it. Major design flaws on this one! wish I could have gotten something like my old Dyson.

Super suction but heavy

This vacuum has superior suction. Being 79, it is hard to push on the carpeting throughout the house. The long hose for stair use etc. is stiff and takes some strength to keep it open to full length. However, even though it is hard to use I would not trade it for another. My rugs have never been this free of dust and cat hair.

Absolutely Happy,,,, powerful,,,,, cannister empties very easily and with all the attachments takes care of all the places I need it to go.
It's a super sucker,,,,Ha !!

Excellent cleaning, but subpar user experience

I have an older Dyson Canister that is still working (and working pretty well), but I wanted to add an upright to my cleaning arsenal. As for the cleaning that this one does - WOW. Other users have noted that it takes some "pushing" - and that's accurate. But I'll take that as a trade-off for the extra dirt it collects, and boy does it. Now, the bad: 1) No onboard storage . . . not even for your favorite one or two tools (and the bag is mediocre, too (no way to close it)). The cord is a wrap up? Ok . . . I mean, I guess. But here's the kicker - IF YOU WANT TO USE THE HOSE, YOU HAVE TO COMPLETELY UNWRAP THE CORD! It's an absurd design choice. I'm on the fence at this point. For the amount I paid (even during the Holiday sales), it really shouldn't be so clunky to use. It's very "un-Dyson" in this way.

Excellent vacuum

This is my very first brand new Dyson upright. I've used a few Dysons over the years, so I have a good bit of experience with them. I love this model! The gates for carpet/floor suction control are fantastic, all the accessories are great, and it performs exactly as expected for a Dyson. It's not any heavier or bulkier than many of the other models I've used previously. Still learning my way around the accessories, however I am VERY happy with my purchase! Does a great job tackling all the dog/cat/parrot mess in our home.

Not overly impressed!

I have had my second Dyson now for about 3-4 months. 1 thing that is great is the suction, other than that I could leave it! Too heavy, doesn't fit under anything, doesn't like to stay locked in upright position because the ball is too big, not easy to take apart and put back together, very awkward on stairs when using the attachment, I could go on but why.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you're not having a better experience with your Ball Animal Complete 3. It's unusual to hear that it isn't staying locked into the upright position for you. There will generally be two clicks that you should get when putting the vacuum into the upright position. These clicks are not always noticeable unless put into the upright position at a slower speed. I would recommend putting the unit into the upright position at a slower pace in order to listen to the clicks that occur in order to troubleshoot the problem. One click will be the wheels of the vacuum going into place. The second click will be the wheels locking into place. It is important to ensure the second click occurs as without the second click, stabilizer wheels are not able to lock securely into place.

Decent vacuum but needs better hose

I had a Dyson animal for 16 years. After it broke I replaced it with the new model. The suction is good and turning is great. The only complaint I have is that the hose is so tight and does not stretch far. The canister plastic also seems to be made of a cheaper material than my old vacuum.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not worth the price

Hard to maneuver. Hate the way lowers and in turn locks back into upright position. It does have good suction. Poor design, and how you detach the handle from the hose. It’s very awkward and hard to get it back into its position. Instructions were horrible and very lacking. Agree with the previous review on the lack of instructions for the attachments. Way over priced.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your review; we love to hear and learn from our owners. Your vacuum has a quick recline feature. This will avoid the need for pedals or stepping on the front of the machine to put it into the reclined position, as with our non-ball models. Rolling the unit around from room to room is recommended to be done with the ball instead of the stabilizer wheels on the back of the ball. You can then put the unit upright once you are done with cleaning and for storage. If you find that putting the wand/hose back in to place is difficult, it can be due to the hose getting twisted during use. Removing the wand and refitting the hose back on to the machine can generally resolve this. We'd be happy to help troubleshoot any other issues you're having.
