Bought this in October 2022. Having a Shiba Inu and a Tabby cat, it’s an amazing vacuum at picking up animal fur with ease. When I first vacuumed my apartment with this, I had to empty the dirt container twice before all the dust, dirt and fur wasn’t piled up. I vacuum pretty much everyday with this thing and, like you’d expect from a Dyson, it leaves no dirt, dust or fur behind. Although, being 5’2 and 155 pds, this thing is heavy. It gets a little easier to handle after having used it so much, but it doesn’t get any lighter. Especially after a long day and already being tired as it is. The cord also gets annoying… there’s no ease in having to move around with it plugged in. Vacuuming with the hose with the wand/attachments can also be annoying (though if you can ignore the awkwardness of it all, it does vacuum everything up). It’s rigid and if you don’t maneuver your way correctly, the vacuum can fall or tilt over as your trying to vacuum utilizing the hose. I didn’t get the wireless dysons bcuz of reviews of them dying at full power after 30 mins.. and the truth is that I don’t know if I’d recommend this particular product or not… it has its pros and cons. Since I spent the money on it, I’m definitely going to be keeping it until it’s dead and it’s warranty runs out, but if you’re on the fence and you’re looking for something with power and ease of use/maneuverability - don’t buy this one.

Best Vacuum I Have Ever Owned

My last vacuum was 15yrs old and falling apart. I was hesitant about spending a lot on a new vacuum but after the reviews and other family members who owned a Dyson for years, I decided to get this during the sale. This vacuum sucked up so much dirt/dust/hair in one clean sweep in the entire house. I couldn’t believe how dirty my carpet/area rugs and hardwood floors were! The hose extension is stiff, but with time it’ll loosen up. I’ve even cleaned my sofa with the attachments and works awesome! I’m hoping this will help with my hubbys allergies knowing this vacuum throughly cleans!

Great for pet hair

This is my third Dyson, and second Animal. It moves smoothly over the carpet (which is cheap and thick), and cleaned it well. I changed the setting to hardwood/deep dirt and while it was harder to push over the carpet, it worked wonders! I'd take this any day over dog hair and dirt staying down in the carpet fibers. For those who complain about how hard it is to push, check your setting. You likely have it on the one for hardwood/no carpet. It was super easy to push over the carpet on the high pile setting.

too heavy - suction not as good as dyson 2 ball

I wish i stuck with the dyson 2. This one is way heavier, and it seems to have less power than my dyson animal 2 ball. I'm a huge fan of Dyson and this is the fourth Dyson vacuum my phone I own the portable ones and the non Portables but this one is just a total disappointment and I never use it I wish I could return it unfortunately

Your machine features an Anti-tangle Motorbar™ cleaner head, with suction control. The three levels of suction are controlled by the slider on the front of the cleaner head. Slide the suction control to suit the floor type, either positioning the slider left, center or to the right. The operational weight of this vacuum is on par with our other full size upright machines. If you're finding the vacuum hard to push or maneuver, even after adjusting the slider, it could be a compatibility issue with your flooring. We always suggest checking with your carpet maker to see what guidelines they may have regarding suction power or use of a spinning brush bar. Hate It!

I've only had this for 2 days now and I hate it. It's SO hard to push! I've tried adjusting every setting possible, including the one for floor height (hard/plush). It is easy to push on the wood floor, but does not pick up tiny bits of dry dog food.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have a similarly priced well reviewed vacuum, not Dyson. I deep cleaned our rugs and they were beyond dirty. We have two dogs but vacuum every few days, they should not have been so dirty. We bought the Animal 3 complete and I am seriously impressed. To test, I carefully vacuumed our three most used area rugs with our nonDyson vacuum. Then I vacuumed with the Dyson. The canister speaks for itself. This is from what we thought were clean rugs. I’m a fan for sure.

Great Suction

Love this vacuum. It does a fantastic job getting the hair up from my golden retriever and 3 cats. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the hose for stretching the vacuum up the stairs does not come close to the full length advertised. At the full length stretched I can’t get to the last 2-3 steps and at that point the vacuum falls over and starts getting pulled up the stairs. FYI I also find that the upholstery attachment gets the animal hair out of the stair runner rug and carpet better than the stair tool. By the way the upholstery tool is unbelievably amazing. It makes quick work out of getting cat hair off chairs and couches. Truly awesome! This vacuum is so amazing that the less than stellar stair hose does not keep me from loving it. I am truly in love with this vacuum. I am very happy with this purchase. I do hope Dyson will lengthen the stair hose though. It would then be perfect!!
