Good Suction, Good Extender Wand vs. Wobbly / Hot

PROS -- We had a roughly 15 year old Dyson that we maintained but wanted more suction. We got that now. Hard floor performance is excellent, and our berber-style carpet is handled almost as well (I often don't use the carpet setting because it's too hard to push -- it's a real). The extender wand is much easier to use than the older model. The main brush does reduce long hair tangles. Awesome.
CONS -- This is a HOT vacuum. I sweat anyway when doing the whole house in swoop, but after doing two room standing near this thing I feel like I've been standing next to a jet engine. I'm shocked the motor doesn't burn up in flame. Also, the vacuum is a bit wobbly and I mist the stable platform I could drag around by the hose on the previous model we had. Further, the dust bin is much smaller and the plastic much thinner -- plastic just gives out over time, but I think it will be quicker on this vacuum.
I'd like to compare a Shark model of the same caliber next to this one, but I'm not made of money. We flipped a coin and went with Dyson again. Time will tell.

Great with pickup but a little disappointed

As other reviews note, this machine is very heavy and a little clunky. That was surprising to me as I always thought these machines moved with ease. There was a learning curve to using it and has a lot of attachments to figure out what works best & where. I will say we have 5 pets and the suction is great-It is also nice that machine easily comes apart to clean.

Mostly good vacuum

Have owned this vacuum for 2 ish months. Overall a good vacuum. The hose is stiff and doesn’t like to say extended but hopefully with time it will relax a bit. The exhaust does run very hot when using. My previous vacuum would blow a bit warm with use but this one blows HOT air out which I did not expect but doesn’t harm the unit itself. The articulating floor tool is handy if you have a lot of hard flooring/hard to reach areas or if you don’t want to push the vacuum itself across your floors.

I have two long hair dogs. I got an Animal 2 and when it finally broke down (7 years later after almost daily use) I went out and bought a 3 without question. Have been very happy with my “Animals”.

Vacuums well

vacuums well, suction is great but a lot harder to manuver then expected, it take a good bit of muscle to vacuum a rug. the hose attachment is terrible it kinks while trying to use it, and it isan effort to pull the hose straight. Then a bit time consuming to but back together
once you have used the wand and brush.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only had this Dyson for a few months, but there is no question concerning the suction power. The instructions can be obtained from the website, but being mechanically minded helps. The only thing missing is the promise, on a call to the Dyson rep, concerning extra tools advertised on the Dyson website. Although disappointed, the enclosed three tools are adequate for most jobs. Yes, the machine is heavy and somewhat seemingly awkward, but a little patience and perseverance will justify the difference the Dyson Ball presents in comparison with the standard American designed- Chinese produced machines! Time will tell its worth and value to people who have had the pleasure of the person who still has the 15 year old Dyson machine. If there is the desire for a better machine, then the cost and weight will increase by the cost and availability in this rocket-propelled world.
