I’ve wanted one for a while but was apprehensive about spending that much on a vacuum. Now I wish I’d done it sooner. It’s all I hoped it would be.

You pay for what you get!

Only had this Dyson for a few months, but there is no question concerning the suction power. The instructions can be obtained from the website, but being mechanically minded helps. The only thing missing is the promise, on a call to the Dyson rep, concerning extra tools advertised on the Dyson website. Although disappointed, the enclosed three tools are adequate for most jobs. Yes, the machine is heavy and somewhat seemingly awkward, but a little patience and perseverance will justify the difference the Dyson Ball presents in comparison with the standard American designed- Chinese produced machines! Time will tell its worth and value to people who have had the pleasure of the person who still has the 15 year old Dyson machine. If there is the desire for a better machine, then the cost and weight will increase by the cost and availability in this rocket-propelled world.

Great suction and it's easy to clean!

We have a shepherd and needed a vacuum with better suction for our newborn. It has everything we were looking for - great suction, easy to clean, and the pet groom tool! I really love that the bin opens all the way and is washable. The filter doesn't smell as bad as my older dyson did. I was especially amazed at how easy it is to access the internal parts so you can unclog it if necessary Also, my dog loves to be brushed with the groom tool!

The good and the bad

This is a fantastic vacuum if you have pets with long hair! I have several Afghan Hounds so long hair wrapping around the vacuum head was always an ongoing issue. This Dyson eliminates that problem. Yes it does push hard compared to my other Dyson- big ball, but well worth the extra effort. Apparently Dyson is aware of this and I was told they have a different head available that pushes easier. I fortunately live close to the Dyson repair center in Bloomington,MN and the customer service has been INCREDIBLE! The guys have done everything to make sure we are happy. Hopefully a Territory manager reads this and rewards that team. Hands down the best customer service I have ever experienced anywhere!

Mixed Feelings with 1 Big Negative

I have owned like 10 Dysons between uprights & handheld & while I am impressed with the suction power of this it has flaws. First of all it would be great if this had a full size head & also if it were a bit taller. It's nice to be able to manually adjust the floor height especially with high pile carpet, but I am finding sometimes the adjustment doesn't work. The huge flaw with this vacuum is the no tangle brush head. While it's awesome that it doesn't tangle & you can pull the brush out to clean, on the right side of where the brush attaches string & hair get wound up & dirt & fur collects & packs in. You can't full access this area to clean it & it affects the performance of the machine. I would rather have a machine I could remove all the debris.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far so good

I love how quiet this vacuum is. I love that I can use it both on carpet and hardwood. A lot of people have said it's hard to maneuver on carpet but I haven't had any issues. The pet groomer tool is heaven sent. My pups were scared at first but they love being groomed. I take pride in knowing I own a Dyson.
