Gets what your old vacuum left behind!

I didn’t realize I needed a new vacuum until I noticed what my old two vacuums were leaving behind - dirt, small dust piles, and hair - everything I assumed my vacuum would be picking up! I did a test and vacuumed first with my old vacuums, one with a bag and the other a stick for the crevices. After one trip around our small house, my new Dyson ball animal 3 picked up everything! This vacuum has insane amount of suction so work with the settings. It’s strong and worth every cent! This will definitely help the allergies.

Great cleaning, poor functionality.

I bought this vacuum a few months ago. I'm young and this is the first vacuum I've ever owned. I did a lot of research and I liked the idea of buying the complete package to pair with my 1 year old Australian shepherd. Let me say... I DO feel like the vacuum is powerful and is able to clean up any reasonable amount of dirt. The suction is powerful (can be difficult to maneuver--sometimes I feel like I'm going to break the handle (re: cheap plastic).
My biggest complaint and the catalyst for such a low rating is the functionality. ANY time you want to use an attachment, it is so awkward. Unless you vacuum from a supine position on the floor, the hose kinks and you lose suction. You have to hold the hose in an awkward configuration to prevent this, which makes vacuuming ANYTHING that isn't the floor a terrible experience. Because of this, all of the attachments are too much of a pain to even use and therefore just sit in the closet. I'm most likely going to sell the vacuum and look into canisters. Unfortunately, I'm rather disappointed in this product.

With regard to using your hose with or without the wand, the hose can be tricky, especially brand new. It's going to be very stiff and not very flexible. I've found in my own use, the more I use and stretch the hose on my upright, the more pliable it become over time. You can detach the hose from the machine, and fully stretch it out - leaving it stretched for a period of time, to see if that helps the process in getting that to be more useful for you. While this machine is not self-propelled, is does feature Dyson ball technology. This allows it to steer easily into difficult places with a simple turn of a wrist. The vacuum's key components have been engineered to fit inside the ball itself. difficult to use

Wand is awkward to detach and the hose is stiff and difficult to extend. I can't use the grooming attachment because I'm afraid the vacuum will tip over onto my dog because the hose is trying to spring back into closed position. The vacuum is very short and the loop handle means it's only good for a limited hight range. I'm 8'9" and it's very awkward. It can clean carpet well and the hair remover on the beater bar is nice. The hose makes all the attachments unusable so if you are debating between models don't count on attachments.

The hose will be rather stiff or awkward to use on your machine at first. I can confirm that we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. Easy to navigate around furniture, and not too heavy.
I am so glad that I purchased it.
Also very easy to empty it.

I bought this upright with high hopes. I have family and friends that have older ones and love them...I didn't. Considering how much these cost, I expected the machine to be of a higher quality. I know most vacuums are largely plastic these days but I thought this one would be a better grade of plastic, it just wasn't. One side panel came loose just from grabbing an edge of a throw rug, the extra tools were REALLY flimsy and I didn't trust them to last a year. The maneuverability was not the easy glide it shows in the videos, very difficult (for me at least) and definitely not something you can get under furniture. The video shows using the extra tools and extension hose for that - good luck! The hose is almost impossible to keep extended while the machine is running, unless you are Hercules. The one positive thing I will say is that the suction to pick up stuff in my carpet was terrific. However, the negatives outweighed that one positive. I went back to a canister vac by someone else.

Out-of-the-box, the hose can be stiffer as it's so new. However, over time and several uses, the hose will become more flexible. We recommend stretching the hose completely out before turning the machine on.
