Better Than The Original Opal Nugget Ice Maker

I bought this one to replace an aging original Opal Nugget Ice Maker and after 1 day already love it. It's so quiet I have to check to make sure it's still on. It makes ice so fast, and has a bigger water reservoir so I end up getting a lot more ice than expected. And it has a great price for the unit. My wife chews ice and said this is much better than Sonic ice. 100% recommended !
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the nugget sized ice

I have been using the ice machine for about a week now..We had guests part of that time and we always had plenty of ice. It is a little louder than I hoped, but we put it in the pantry so it doesn't bother us at all. It's really no louder than most dishwashers.
We have chosen to use distilled water, due to the hardness of our water. We are hoping that will help decrease the amount of descaling we will have to do in the future & extend the lifetime of the machine.
Would definitely buy again!!

It’s unfortunate that I never got the chance to enjoy the ice maker. I purchased it along with the side tank. I followed the instructions to sanitize it before making ice, once I got it sanitized I was ready to make ice. I got it setup hit the power button and the making ice turned on I was really excited and looking forward to the nugget ice but after 10 minutes the defrosting light turned on so the unit never made ice. I made sure the unit had enough airflow and tried again but no d(ice). I returned it.

Delicious ice—until it breaks.

Worked perfectly for two days, then there was a sudden loud bang and it now endlessly cycles between “Making Ice” and “Defrosting” without actually making any ice. Extremely frustrating how little self-troubleshooting is available, no option at all for getting help on a weekend, and I dread the day when I find out how much this is going to cost me. If I had to guess, I’d probably be better off tossing this one and buying a new machine than paying for repair, which is insane after less than a week of use. A huge disappointment, because I loved it while it worked.

The look of it is beautiful. The set up & the 1st cleaning was easy. The making of ice and the ice itself is great so far. I did not give it a 5 star yet because I only used it for a little over a week... I want to see how long it last and how it will be at the time of descaling before giving it a 5 star. I hope it last for years but so far out of other ice makers that I have tried....this is my favorite so far.

Creates ice well and the nuggets are great. The machine is loud when it runs and makes a terrible squealing noise that is obnoxious often.
