Dream of mounds of tiny crunchy ice pillows

I’m not going to mince words, this is the most expensive appliance I own, it was pricy. BUT I CAN LUXURIOUSLY ENJOY MOUNTAINS OF CRUNCHY ICE NOW! I am filled with more joy from this ice machine than I would like to admit.
We got the side tank to refill, lots of reviews commented it was important - I would agree now. It’s great to just fill up the side tank and walk back over to where I have the ice machine set up. Our strategy has been to fill up some gallon size freezer baggies and put it into the freezer, once frozen solid (the fresh ice is a bit wet) we drop it onto the concrete floor to let the chunk break up and then shake the nuggets into our ice bin in the freezer. Two days of running the ice machine (minus our high ice consumption) filled up the freezer. I don’t anticipate needing to run it all the time. Some folks commented about the noise, it’s not noisy.

You should probably buy it now. This is another reason why I can’t go to jail…I’m pretty sure they don’t have crunchy ice in jail.

Love this ice!!! Best Buy ever!!! Perfect for all drinks or just to munch on!!! Only downside is that I get a lot of company just to come eat my ice!

Love this icemaker! I even like it better than the Opal 2.0, which a family member has. Ice makes quickly and it is kept cold for hours. I turn it off at bedtime and there is still ice left in the morning. I add water and turn it back on. New ice is quickly made. What melts is used as water for more ice! Really impressed with how quiet it is too.

Finally crunchy ice at home!

So if you are looking for "Sonic Ice" Look no further. It only makes what you need and is perfect for a household of 2-4. Easy buttons on top to know when it is making ice and when it needs more water. We are using distilled water in hopes of no hard water buildup.

Had a first gen opal for the last few years and something is wrong with it. Not sure who I can find to work on it. In the meantime I wanted my nugget ice so I bought this one. I was happy that my original extra tank will also work with this. I don’t find it too noisy and the first ice is a little slushy but then once it gets going it’s great! Good so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!
