Looks like crap

Don’t get this customized. The paint wears off within days. JBL will do nothing to fix it. Waste of money. Sound quality is average.

Not water resistant.

Not waterproof at all. I took mine out kayaking. Fully within it's reasonable operation. Didn't get submerged and of course got wet but we'll within it's ipx rating. Didn't attempt to charge afterwards just pulled it out of the truck to unload it and it's bricked. Do not recommend.

Our JBL Charge 5 has an IP67 rating, IP67 protects the product from submersion in 1 meter (3.3 feet) of water for up to 30 minutes and it is also resistant from dust. Charging While Using

Overall, the speaker works great. But the only thing I dislike is, I can’t charge and use it when the battery is low.

Bad battery

Not even one year later and the battery only last about 5 hours. My JBL charge 3 lasted for a whole day

Our JBL Charge 5 has up to 20 hours of battery life. This may vary depending on volume and music content. If the speaker doesn't meet the advertised playtime hours even at low to mid-volume levels, there could be a problem with the battery of the unit. So far it’s so worth it. It does hold a charge for a long time. The sound quality is great and it doesn’t distort on higher volume

A wonder!

An absolutely amazing speaker! I am really enjoying the appearance of it, but the main focus is set in the sound quality and power. I remember buying this as a counselor at a camp this Summer so that I could play music for the kids. I walked a block or two away in distance so I could get myself a meal and I was still able to hear the music blaring from downhill. It truly is a wonder for such a small speaker.
