I just bought this in a retail store and dang testing this thing out, the bass is insane, the treble and the mids are good too and through the app JBL portable you can change the EQ and that is very useful. Really recomend this.

Amazing sound, not a power bank

Sound is amazing and the bass is impressive. However, do not buy this for it's power bank. The output is not strong enough to give your phone a positive charge while using the phone to play music

Nice n loud but it dies so quick. I have the Charge 4 and I can play it for 6 hours on blast before it dies. This one? 2 hours and the red light is blinking. Ridiculous. Then, I would like to know the genius that decided they were going to make this speaker and NOT let it connect to the charge 4? JBL is weird and all over the place. I'm going back to UE.

If the speaker doesn't meet the advertised playtime hours even at low to mid-volume levels, there could be a problem with the battery of the unit. I bought the charge 5 so I can have at work, its the perfect size for what I need and wanted, unfortunately the battery doesn’t last nearly as advertised. I fully charged it and after four hours of playtime the battery life indicator was showing red and I only had the volume on medium not sure if I got a defect or it’s just false advertising.

I love the jbl charge 5. I have 5 of them plus I also bought 2 others that I made a gift of them, one to my son, and one to my next door neighbor who hears mine all the time when I am in my backyard.
