poor re-charge after about a year or two.

so disappointed - bought the JBL Charge 4 in Dec 2020 and while it was great for about 2 yrs it started to hold a charge for less and less time and it took longer each time to recharge. The last time I tried to recharge, it just wouldn't take. What is this? planned obsolescence? how about some sustainable products?

Thanks for your inquiry. All batteries, over time, will slowly wear down. When you first get a unit it may last 5 hours. Two years later it may only last 3 hours. This is normal. A good battery will keep more than 70% of its original capacity even after 500 charging cycles. What isn’t normal, is when a 12-month-old battery only lasts 15 minutes. We recommend charging your JBL Charge 4 for at least 4 hours with the charger it came with. If you need more help, please contact our customer support.

Customized pain fail

The speaker is great sounding. However, I customized it for my kid (through JBL) and in only a few months the paint is coming off revealing the original white color. Looks horrible. Good speaker, but I would not recommend getting it customized.

Great speaker.For example: good bass, portable and good sound.I Rock out to music on this thing nearly every day, does not disappoint. I 100% recommend this speaker.👍👌😎❤️🎼

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my new JBL Charge 5 , it’s unbelievable extremely wonderful sound! Easy to connect with iPhone. I’m a fan of JBL . I used to have JBL change 3,4 they’re such different sound More improved sound with JBL Charge 5. I love it! And very pretty good with jazz music. “have JBL Charge 5” like you have expensive stereo sound. So reasonable with this price. Also JBL Change 5 is good for any party! Special with pool party! Becoz is water proof! That’s more reasons I loved. I also fan of JBL headphones. I will never changed band “)

I’ve owned many JBL speakers and have been extremely satisfied by all but like all technology they are improved by the next generation. The last JBL charge I owned was the charge 3 which I had since launch until selling it recently it was still just as amazing as the day I bought it, but after hearing my new charge 5 I realized just how much of an improvement it was. The added tweeter was the first thing I noticed it makes the speaker sound so much more clear and loud compared to the previous model while retaining the awesome bass response. I considered trying a different brand this time but after a lot of research I decided that JBL is still the brand for me nobody else gives me everything I want in a speaker but they always deliver, in my opinion nobody has the sound quality, build quality and everything else I look for at a comparable price. I also owned the original JBL Xtreme and I have to say the charge 5 is very very close in sound and performance which is amazing at the size. Overall I am extremely happy with this speaker and I’m looking forward to using it for years to come.

Party boost feature stinks

Bought 2 speakers with party boost. Feature stinks. It takes minutes to get both to come on. They should turn on automatic but they don't. Don't recommend to buy
