The Charge 5 is pretty good, but I wanted a little more bass, I returned the Charge 5 and purchased the Extreme 3, WOW, what a great speaker ! I recommend this Extreme 3 very much !! The folks at Harmon are great !

Sounds great. but not as portable as you think

For a portable speaker, it should have some way of adding a carrying strap. Otherwise, the speaker sounds great overall.

great buy and a fair price!

very satisfied! Impressed on how accurate the color is on the website compared to real life (i bought a customized one.) i firmly believe the price is well justified and the newly found app support to change the EQ settings, update the software of the speaker and rename it is very much welcomed. i have recommened this product to several friends and all of which have purchased one after seeing mine. and to go along with that the party boost settings are amazing and really bring out the emmersion in whatever is being played.

The JBL Charge 5 has a big sound in a relatively small package. While the sound is somewhat bass heavy, it's still crisp and plenty loud. The battery life so far has been above par (have only charged once since I received it and it's still running after a few listens of 30 minutes to a couple hours). The customization options were nice and relatively inexpensive. The speaker design is simple but attractive even without the customizations. Bluetooth connectivity was a breeze and the speakers automatically connects to the paired device on power up. A minor nit would be a way to disable or reduce the volume of the shutdown/connect tones - they are annoyingly loud.
My only complaint would be that a product meant for outdoor use like this should come with some type of reusable nylon or fabric carry bag or at least a sturdy lanyard/strap.

Very tough speaker!!!!

I have put this poor little speaker through so much sand, dirt and mud that it’s amazing it’s still working! I use a couple bungee cords to hold it to the windshield of my SXS. They are definitely tough speakers!!!!
