Very Nice Piece of Audio

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I anxiously awaited the delivery of this JBL product owing to the quality I've come to expect from this audio company. Upon arrival, and subsequent use of this speaker, it certainly did not disappoint. Generally with these portable type speakers your first concern is with the bass response. To be fair, you shouldn't expect too much from these type "portables" in the way of bottom end. You expect to give up a little in the sound department for the convenience of it's size. However, with the JBL Charge 5, you are having to sacrifice very little. The overall sound quality is second to none and the balance between highs and lows is spot on. This latest contribution from JBL is a definite 5 star winner!
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the JBL Charge 5 recently and decided to put it through a rigorous testing for various locations inside and out.
This speaker did not disappoint!
I own two JBL Charge 2 models that we use outdoors in the summer by the pool that have worked very well. Charge 5 Speaker is waterproof so we don’t have to worry about splashing or dropping it in the water. The new speaker’s sound blows them away. This model is slightly bigger and heavier, but that’s due to the new speakers. The sound is incredible! From listening to rock, pop, country, etc. to the vocals that are crisp and clear. Bass comes through loud with the volume cranked up! This speaker works just as well outdoors as well as indoors. Price is affordable and about what you would expect to own a quality versatile speaker. Comes with a USB charging cord for easy re-charging, you can expect 15-20 hours use before needing a recharge.

I just bought one of the JBL Charge 5 portable speakers. I had never seen one or heard one before now. I read a bunch of reviews of several different makes & models. To be honest, I went with JBL because a friend of mine in California has one and likes his. OMG! I took it out to the lake and I was freaking amazed at how good it sounds!! No kidding. I'm not easily impressed. I figured it would just be a step up from tinny iPhone speakers. Wrong! It thumped! **doing my happy happy joy joy dance** I like it when I feel like I've made a good decision when I buy stuff.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good sound. hard to use

Love the sound, but hate that I have to reset the Bluetooth connection every single time I want to use the speakers...even if I have stopped playing music from my phone for a minute. Most frustrating

Good bass, sound quality, and durability

I’ve had this speaker for nearly two years now and it still performs just as well as the day I bought it. The bass is very good for the size of speaker that it is and is very punchy. This speaker was constantly being carried around on a bike, dropped, used in the shower once a week, caught in the rain, and still works perfectly. The sound quality is extremely impressive and even from 100 feet away the speaker still sounds very clear. Definitely one of my best purchases.

Clear sound, great battery

I got this a week ago today and man. This this is great! Awesome sounds that's clear, precise, with bass, mids, and treble sounding independent on their own. Amazing battery too! With this price and size, nothing compares. Looks great too, I'm very happy with JBL's recent design language change across the board. Got mine in Blue and it really pops! The power bank function is not something I thought I wanted, but I'm glad it's there. Only complaint is the lack of an audio jack, Bluetooth only. Its also a a bit overly obtuse to be considered truly portable, so consider the Flip 6 or even the Clip 4 if that's a major concern to you. It's tough too, I'm confident this will last years. Thank you, JBL!

Not a great purchase

I bought this not even two weeks ago and the battery will not stay charged longer than three to four hours.. I paid a lot for it and bought it because JBL said the battery would last 22 hours on a full charge. Wish I wouldn’t have wasted my money
