Tungsten is a heavy stone.This stone combined with steel will impart great strength.
The Miyabi- Asian knives are usually harder steel blades. This is the right tool for those knives. Harder knives- harder sharpening steel. Once you learn how to use the sharpening steel, you will use it all the time. This steel will sharpen a dull knife.

All Around Great Steel

This is the perfect honing steel if you have Japanese and German knives. Tungsten is very hard and can help you keep even the hardest Japanese knives sharp. Do it once a week and you will always have a sharp knife.

The perfect tool to hone your Miyabi knives every day or every few days. Gives them a better and sharper edge for those hard steel knives! A few strokes on each side and your knife is ready to use again!

This steel is perfect for German and Asian knives. It works especially well for Asian knives because the Tungsten is so hard. It will keep all your knives in good shape.

Each time you use your knives the straight edge becomes slightly out of alignment even before it dulls. Using a sharpening steel is important to realign your knife edge and keep it performing its best in between sharpening. This steel is great for your Miyabi knives.

I like tungsten steel for honing & sharpening. Its toughness stand up to the frequency with which I use it. Worth the little extra you pay because you will have this for decades.
