Love that has options for Japanese (our new Zwilling knives) and standard. Easy to use and keeps all our knives in tip top shape.

Not what I was expecting

Difficult to gauge how much pressure to apply. After watching a few YouTube videos demonstrating this sharpener, I went through the seemingly simple process with 2 different knives and didn't see much improvement with either. Now after multiple attempts I'm wondering if I've actually damaged my knives.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our Four Stage Knife Sharpener with Shear Sharpener requires using moderate pressure, pulling the knife through the slot from the heel to tip. Depending on the dullness of the Blade repeat on the Course side up to 20 times, if necessary, then wipe the blade and move to the Fine side repeating up to 5-10 times if necessary. The Ceramic slots are extremely durable and can withstand sharpening many dull blades and shears for years to come.
