Good design except for one thing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The most important aspect of a knife sharpener is if it does what it’s supposed to do, which is to sharpen knives. This sharpener does perform on that account. The second aspect, at least for me, is if the sharpener is designed with longevity in mind, which this falls short. When you apply pressure while pulling the knife through the ceramic discs, the tip will hit the red plastic base. Over time this will score the plastic and quite possibly dull the tip of the knife. I think the design team would have noticed this design flaw had they put the sharpener through a test run themselves. Meanwhile, I am forced to be very careful not to slice through the sharpener.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate the fact that both American and Japanese blade angles are set on one tool. If only they would replace the rubber gripping pad on the bottom with a piece of leather (to use as a strop), it would be perfect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that it is stable on the counter top, I had a similar hand held and always felt I was one stroke away from cutting myself. There is no worry off that happening with the no slide bottom and large handle.
