Very sturdy.Putting it on countertop and it doesn't move when sharpening.Sharpened my knives quickly.Love it that it sharpens my scissors also.I am able to sharpen various types of knives and scissors. I would recommend to anyone that needs a sharpener.

This sharpener is wonderful for ease and convenience. It doesnt hone the edge as well as a stone but that takes time and I often need a sharp knife to prep a quick dinner or put on a pot of soup. One star off only because I worry it might "ding" the blade over time.
I would recommend this to a friend!
