Just unpacked the box and so far so good. Would like a bit more info on whether or not to run water through it before using. Not very clear

Sucks dumped 2.5 gal. Water on floor,13 months old,emailed support,wanted to sell me another one instead of fixing it or giving me an idea of what the problem would be. Nice huh,never again
