I purchased this binder to use for a school assignment. When I went to use the binder I couldn't get half of the rings to open. As I continued to attempt the binder literally fell apart in my hands. One metal piece broke off (the part that you pull or push to open/close) and another ripped off the binder. I was able to easily return at a nearby Staples store and get a new binder however Staples only had limited binders in stock (which did not include a black one). Although the second binder worked as it should I was not happy with my purchase - the quality on these binders is just not up to par.
I use probably 50 of these binders a year as I put them in all my Real Estate listing and do a personalized home book with information on each home. The are great and make an impressive personalized book with flyers and pictures and other information on the home and neighborhood..
I'm a playwright who often must submit full-length manuscripts by mail. This is an inexpensive reliable solution to the problem of shipping the script so that it is bound securely and yet easy to remove and copy (for a series of readers). The half-inch width is perfect for a 90+ page script.
I purchased the 1/2" Staples Brand View Binder with D-Rings in Bright Green to store a Manual Instructions for a Dell Venue Tablet. The bright green makes it easily to identify the contents of the binder it was easy to load the pages and plenty of room to add additional sheets for additional notes I make want to jot down. The front see thru page made it easy to make a title page with all pertinent information. The side panel was great to make another title border so I know which is up/down when storing.
These 1/2" ring binders were just the right size for presenting multiple documents organized by semester during our recent accreditation site visit. Our Resource Room was well organized the site visitors were able to find what they needed easily and the narrow binders did not take too much space. Here's a hint if you struggle with inserting spine labels for these narrow binders: print the spine labels on 90# index paper and open the binder to relax the spine edge your labels will slide in easily.
This is an excellent quality durable product. I would like to have this available in more colors. The price is a bit too high compared to the larger binders.
