This was the wrong kit for my model grill. No kit seems to be available for what I purchased three years ago. Luckily I was able to repair the failure which turned out to be a melted/shorted wire. It was disturbing though to discover that if the igniter itself were to fail I would have to modify the case of my grill with a power drill in order to use the available repair kit.
Web interface for buying parts was absolutely useless. Your parametric search system was unable to identify my Genesis II grill. You should simply throw the whole thing out and start over.

For our Genesis II models, most parts are only available through our center since they do carry a 10-year warranty. The igniter works great. However, the Weber web site directed me to the wrong igniter replacement. Nevertheless, I was able to adapt my grill to utilize this igniter by filing the opening for the button of igniter to accommodate the larger opening required for this igniter.

Instructions for installation were easy to follow and understand. I still have one burner that is stubborn to ignite. Cleaned it with a wire brush: improved it a bit.

Replacement of original when burner tubes were replaced. Only two tubes lighted initially after installation. Readjusted electrode and works fine now.

Very satisfied. Easy installation. Excellent instructions. Only negative is that I needed only the ignitor switch and not the leads . I suggest that Weber offers the option to buy separately. Less cost and less wasteful unused materials.
