These grates are terrific for smoking meat on a regular kettle grill. Having hinged sides make it so much easier to add wood chips and charcoal. Last grate I Had lasted about 10 years with heavy use from April thru October every year.

I am very pleased with this new grate. This particular Weber kettle is very old and still very much in use. It's so old it's avocado green - like 70's avocado green! I like the hinged sides, that was something the original was missing.

Love this hinged cooking grate for if you need to put more coals in you don't need top take the whole grill off. You can still keep the meat on the frill great idea.

The hinges do not readily fold flat. I think this is because they are made in China. That never happened with earlier ones.
