Portable and powerful, great for small/medium jobs

This saw packs a lot of power into a small package. It is very light (about the same weight as a large drill) and comfortable to use one-handed (holding your workpiece with the other hand) and can also be used two-handed for more stability like a traditional reciprocating saw. The grip and overall ergonomics are excellent. It comes with a rafter hook on the boot and a belt clip, so it can be easily hung up or stowed as needed. It even fits in my drill holster!
Vibration is very well-controlled; with the boot pushed up against whatever you are cutting, it is practically non-existent. The boot glides smoothly along flat surfaces, making cutting a breeze. It is not retractable/extendable but does pivot. The LED is super bright and really helps to see what you are cutting.
Runtime is great; when using this saw to hack up a pile of old linoleum tiles and plywood underlayment boards, I was able to work for about 2 hours before discharging a 4Ah battery. It runs just fine on a 2Ah battery as well and is a bit lighter.
The only disclaimer I would make is to have realistic expectations for a saw this small. It only has a 5/8" stroke so it will not make super fast cuts through large pieces of wood, but with some patience it will get the job done. Although it is a recip saw, I have found that the small stroke and variable speed trigger allow it to make some reasonably precise cuts. If you are in the 20V Max platform and looking for a recip saw for small to medium jobs, this one is hard to beat.

Perfect size and weight

A friend had a Milwaukee Battery sawzall, in fact two of them - I went to store, bought this Dewalt and he's mad he didn't buy the Dewalt - great for work, right size, weight and easy to use Only wish it had a HARD CASE

Plenty of Power and Ergonomic Design

I do all kinds of construction work and this tool is awesome. It has plenty of power and its compact size is a bonus when using in tight spaces.
The quick load blade lever works great (no more hex wrenches required to make blade changes.)
I also use it for pruning trimming trees (no more cords required.)
And,don't laugh, but after buying several useless electric trimmers to trim grass around my lawn irrigation heads, I put a fine blade in the saw, trimmed circles around the heads and pulled the grass away. Worked great and very efficient; a timesaver.

Great one handed demo tool

This is a great lightweight demolition tool that you can use one handed. Great for quick cutting of nails, pipes, wood, foam insulation, and other materials. It's compact so it'll fit into tight spaces. Small, but packs a punch. I find myself reaching for this tool almost as much as my oscillating tool. It has become more useful than I once thought. And it's DeWalt, so you can't go wrong.

I bought this saw to help me while hunting. I use it to split the crotch and brisket of the animals I harvest. WAY faster than doing it by hand.

Compact and tuff

This thing started life hard. Had to cut up steel tubs for a 36 unit apartment remodel. Paired it with Diablo carbide blades and it never quit or overheated! Made it to about 18 of them before having to use it for other jobs. Small, powerful, and easy to menuver in tight spaces.

I'm a Elk hunter and this tool is perfect for quartering a game animal. very light weight to carry, and I love the one hand use. I'm 70 years old and this saves my back!
