[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this AC unit for 3 weeks now and it is the most quiet and sophisticated unit that I have ever owned. It is super efficient, thus far reliable and well designed. Performs extremely well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed inside the wall to replace an old and noisy smaller window type unit. I just began to use the new LG less than a week ago, so am still getting to know how to use the features. It is so much quieter than my old AC and I like the energy saver feature, so the cooling shuts down when the thermostat senses it has cooled the space, and every few minutes a quiet fan comes on to check if the room needs more cooling. I still have a lot to learn about this LG air conditioner.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace an older inefficient and loud GE. Have been running daily since day one. Love the IOS App. Almost never use the supplied remote. cools almost 900 sq ft with a vaulted 12 ft ceiling on Energy Saving mode and low fan. Have had quite a few 95+ degree days and no problems.
Pros: Performance
I would recommend this to a friend!

Island Salt Water :(

This AC unit was nice at the beginning for our 970sqft condo, but we've had it for 2.5 years and the salt water has started to corrode the outside fins. The installer thought it was weird that there wasn't a drain plug or any discussion in the manual about having it drain. It now looks like this might be related to the corrosion issue. We're not sure how much more we'll be able to use this 18000 BTU unit, so a little disappointed in this unit.

Top of the line, but a few oddities

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So many features on these units that you can get lost in the weeds setting them up. Very quiet, consistent performance and cooling capabilities. WiFi app is very good, but a few things could be improved with a firmware update which I think is desperately needed. Mostly related to sleep mode.
1. Sleep mode should last longer than 7 hours (up to 24 hours a day honestly) and not raise the temperature. Very strange. Disruptive to sleep when the unit turns off and dings, or the room gets hotter throughout the night. 2. No noises when changing settings, especially in sleep mode. 3. Ability to have the screen and LEDs turn off in sleep mode.
Additionally, some form of protection for the rear cooling fins is a MUST. I'm having a contractor look into how to protect it from hail damage. They are extremely fragile and critical to the operation of the unit. Also, a drain plug is necessary as one of the units I have makes occasional sounds of rushing/gurgling water.
Ability to have the remove and unit display sync up properly when changes are made from the app or from the unit itself. Currently, the remote stores the last changes made from itself, but does not reflect changes made via other input methods. If you set it to 72* on the remote, and turn it up via app or unit controls to 73*, the remote will still read 72*, and when you make changes via the remote, it will go back to 72* and make changes from there, not the current set temperature.
I think ALL of this can be fixed in firmware/software. Really hope LG can enhance the development of this unit before it eventually gets forgotten about/replaced. I highly value the units and they will be in my home for years to come! I am recommending them to an entire condo complex!
