Bought this blender in December and used it rarely and it gave out. I previously had the glass model made in 2007 and finally gave out so I bought this model. I have a Vitamix but favored the Kitchenaid. I had previously for blending sauces and food because I used the Vitamix for drinks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent, well made and with parts that are easily cleanable and have no parts accumulating dirt or difficult to access.
