Great idea for the pliers! Easy to use! Very smooth actions! Extremely sharp knife! Perfect size and weight! I actually dont like carrying many things in my pockets but i hardly even notice this because of the weight! Built tough!(tougher than Ford) I dont regret a single thing and i would get the same one if something ever happened to this one! Great product, well worth the money
I have now the original SOG Switchpier and the new 2.0 version, I have used and really like the sideplier feature rather than the scissor type versions with the plier in the center. The new is as great as the older version...like the addition of the awl. The new look is nice, along with the built in belt clip.
The only things that could possibly make this better would be an included, fitted sheath, and a better eyelet/loop for connecting it to a lanyard. It has already become my favorite piece of fly fishing equipment. Keeping pressure on the line while bringing in a trout is essential. Having a pair of pliers or forceps dangling with the tips ready to gouge you in the stomach or leg isn't my favorite thing. Other multi-tools just can't be readied easily without using both hands. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Glad SOG finally managed to get this on the shelf at the store (so to speak... they appear to be in such demand that backordering online might be the only way to get one).
Very well made and punches well above its size. Granted it is no Powerlock, it will handle some rather big jobs. A good all around tool to carry everyday to handle those jobs that pop up.
This multitool is adorable and durable. I collect and test all types of multitool and at this point I was thinking there was nothing new or better said different Outthere for me to test out. Went to academy just to look around and there it was for just about 45 bucks So I scooped it up. The only complaint that I have with it is the same with all the sog multitool of this kind and that's the chisel ground knife blade and the file is not as well made as I like. Sog makes it easy to over come this mostly. I bought a straight blade and a wood saw from SOG for my powerlock and replaced the file and knife with those. Over all this is a great tool.
