Good for light duty

I have several sog multi tools n knives, the switch plier has its place in light duty repair or best place is for fishing in my opinion. The tools are the same as other sog tools and are interchangeable for the most part.the file is a bit different but it’s not like you can’t tune it to fit other tools. I like to swap tools I use more for others.
The knife and some other tools can be deployed without opening the pliers!! Simply open the handles to deploy tools that aren’t under the pliers head when folded.
The pliers on my tool are straight and mesh tightly, the spring operation is nice for precision use like fish hooks and small stuff. The only complaint is the pliers can not make the pressure that the other compound leverage type tools available can. The operation of this design is also sensitive to main screw tension for both smooth operation and the slippage passed the pins that operate the pliers. You must keep a balance of reliable opening and how much pressure you can get out of the pliers before it slips.

I received this a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it. I work outside most of the time and it is the perfect tool for small jobs, very study. Very well worth the price. Would also make great gifts! Everyone that sees mine want to know where I got it. I have a Leatherman & Gerber, and I like this one the best!

I bought 3 of these for Christmas presents. They are a big hit. I carry this daily and it as saved me so much time and steps. Made very well with the tools you will use the most. The pliers are a serious tool. Knife is sharp. All tools lock so go ahead and apply the pressure.

This is a great tool for a fisherman, you can hold the fish with one hand and retrieve and open the switchplier with the other, then remove the hook from the fish. This tool makes one handed operation very simple!
