The wider base gives much better support. Easy to adjust the length of the cable.
It is some what cumbersome to exchange the foot bar and the jumper. It would be much easier if it was a lock pin instead of screw in to set.

So far, I am loving my reformer- the only issue that I have is I wished the reformers had colors on their cords, so I know which cord is the lighter and which one is the heavier cord. I have stop and change mine.
