USB adapter not recognized!
on November 18, 2021
Posted by: NatNat
So I just got a new MacBook and they no longer take regular USB connections so I got an adapter, but the DYMO does not recognize the adapter and so here I am, no labels and no solution from DYMO when they will resolve the issue (after waiting on the line for customer service for over 1hr). So as far as I'm concerned this is an obsolete tool.

Hello, this is Vernie from DYMO Consumer Care. Thank you for providing your feedback for the LabelWriter 550 Turbo. We sincerely apologize our products have not met your expectations. The LabelWriter printers will need to be connected directly to your laptop as USB hubs are unsupported. Since your new MacBook does not have the traditional USB port, we would advise for you to purchase a USB Type B to Type C cable so you may connect your printer directly. We would be very happy to assist you in resolving any issues with our products. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to give our technical support team a call at 877-724-8324 Monday to Friday 9am-5pm EST and we will be happy to assist you. You can also find ‘Contact us’ option under the support tab on the DYMO website.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] have been using Dymo Labelwriters for at least 20 years. All of my experiences with Dymo products have been wonderful. I am sorry to say that the Dymo Labelwriter 450 Turbo is a terrible product. I do not recommend anyone purchase this product. The Dymo Labelwriter 450 Turbo labels KEEP JAMMING, and as a result, you end up wasting a ton of good labels while clearing the jam.

Hello, this is Faith from DYMO Consumer Care. Thank you for providing your feedback for the DYMO LabelWriter 450 Turbo. We sincerely apologize our products have not met your expectations and for the inconvenience caused. In most cases cleaning the printer helps, please follow these steps: a) Open the lid of the printer b) Grip top part of the front cover and lift it up c) Remove the cover by pulling it towards you d) Pull up the label guide e) Check for any physical jams and remove the label jam using a pair of tweezers or scissors. After Clearing the label jam I would recommend cleaning the print head and the roller using a business card that is coated with an alcohol-solution such as isopropyl, acetone or hand sanitizer. Take the card and feed it through the print roller 5-10 times making sure to cover all parts of the printer 3. Please allow 5 minutes for the printer to dry before printing a label. If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to give our technical support team a call at 877-724-8324 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm EST and we will be happy to assist you. You can also find ‘Contact us’ option under the support tab on the DYMO website.

Easy set-up, nice quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a an amazing product that prints nice quality labels. I do several shipping orders each week and this has been quick, easy, and effective. It is also able to print from several different computers on the same network. Love not having to worry about ink or toner, and it keeps up with how many labels you have left. Connecting it to my computer and getting everything set up was simple. It also prints very fast. The only downside to me is that this printer is not compatible with 3rd party labels. It will only work with DYMO brand labels. I guess though without having to buy ink or toner, your using that to buy the more expensive labels.

Hello.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. If the printer just stops printing please try power-cycling it by removing the power, USB, and labels from it then press the power button 15 times. After that please connect the power, insert your labels and the USB cable then make sure your print queue is empty before you attempt to print.

I am dissapointed with the product, only the dymo labels are accepted, way over priced. Also most frustrating feature is that I have to always restart the printer when I need to print, so frustrating!

Hi Jozette.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. The LabelWriter 5 series printers were designed to work with DYMO Labels only to avoid issues such as excessive feeding, label jams, and misaligned printing.
The printer also goes to sleep when it has not be used for a while.

No more generic labels

I have purchased dozens of DYMO LabelWriter printers over the years and have loved them. But now seeing that the new generation prohibits use of generic labels is a deal breaker. I loved the built in network jack on this latest model, but no way I will purchase if required to purchase only your overpriced labels.
