Wonderful sound and impressive immerse experience and truly very good noise cancelling. App easy to use, and light weight.
Downsides...
- must open app to change to immerse sound every time
- capabilities for 3D sound, but no Dolby Atmos support

It's awesome to see that you enjoy the wonderful sound and immersive experience that the headphones provide. The spatial audio built into the headphones can offer a Dolby Atmos like experience.
You mention needing the app to switch immersive audio modes, the short cut button on the volume strip can adjust with mode you're in.
You can enable this through the Bose Music app for the headphone settings.

Amazing Sound Technology

I've had these headphones for about a week but I wasn't impressed with them as another pair I own. Technologically they are amazing. I took these to the office and really noticed the amazing features. In quiet mode I thought it wasn't all that great until I took the headphones off and realized all the background noise I was able to hear. The air conditioner, people typing, paper shuffling around, etc. It was fantastic! Plus they are probably one of the most comfortable pair of over the ear headphones I have worn. I wore them all day at work and barely noticed them. Not to mention that they were at 60% battery life and they lasted through a full day of music, podcasts, and conference calls. The immersive sound is really incredible and the different settings are great. The Bose app could be a little better designed but it's pretty straight forward. I love the ability to connect it to multiple devices at once. That really came in handy at the office when I was able to connect it to my phone for music and my laptop for calls. Sounds quality is obviously exceptional. It's a Bose and they don't disappoint. My only gripe would be the price point. I have another morbid confectionery branded pair where I feel the sound is as good if not slightly better with bass. If you have the money definitely snag these for the technology alone. I am still very satisfied. After all, they're Bose.

Pretty good, but wouldn't purchase again

I find these Bose headphones to deliver exceptional music quality in a nice looking headphone that is nice for travel. I find these attributes very valuable for headphones. However, I have several big complaints the headphones. I find the headphones to get hot when wearing them for even for one hour. I also found my ears were a bit sore from wearing them which makes it hard to use for long travel. Finally, I learned the hard way that charging while using the headphones is not possible, so they must be off to recharge the battery. I wish these areas could be improved so I could better enjoy these headphones.

Next Level Noise cancellation for Frequent Flier

I am a traveling consultant that is on the road every other week if not every week. For me, noise cancellation and comfort is primary concern as I am spending about 8 hours on a plane a week. The other guys used to be my go-to with their folding design and excellent noise cancelling but I always missed the amazing comfort of my Bose QC35. I finally got both comfort and noise cancelling performance with the Bose QuiteComfort Ultra. Sound quality was amazing especially when using Spatial Audio but it’s not for every kind of audio input. I have yet to figure out when to turn it on vs. off for better sound but I am starting to get better. I also love that these fold away in a case which is essential to be able to keep these tucked away in my already full backpack. I look forward to using these for many many years to come and have replaced my standard set of noise cancelling headphones in my backpack.
