Revolutionizing the Experience of Sound

I received this pair of beauties a couple weeks ago and I am very impressed. The design of the Quiet Comfort Ultra is very sleek, feels extra durable, and the improvement on the cup shape provides a more comfortable and better experience overall. I also enjoy the way the headset collapses and folds, making it even more compact than previous models and competitor models. The Immersive audio feature is a major game changer for me, it provides the ability to feel like whatever you're listening to or whomever you are talking to is in the room with you. The volume slide is very unique and handy, as well as the sensors that detect when the user removes/puts on the headphones and pause/resume whatever is playing. My only suggestion is finding a way to make the battery life longer while using the Immersive feature.

My new favorite headphones

These headphones have quickly become my favorite pair I’ve ever owned. The sound quality is excellent, as they are able to get pretty loud while remaining clear and crisp. The active noise cancelling is the most powerful I’ve seen, and is notably even stronger than the Bose NC700 headphones. Also improved from the NC 700 model in my opinion is the QuietComfort Ultra headband, which is much more robust feeling in my hand. Overall these are a premium feeling, solid pair of headphones, with class-leading audio and ANC performance.

Nice Sounding Headphones With a Good Configuration

I own two other pairs of Bose QuietComfort headphones beside these and can honestly say that these are far more refined than the previous generations. They come in a nicely constructed case with a good zipper, the headphones fold for a reduced storage and the case even includes a stiched-in tag denoting the positioning of the headphones when resting. The Bose Music App allows for a great deal of control over the tonal signature, Immersive Audio settings and other attributes. I found that I listened more to the default stereo mode than Immersive Audio most of the time, although the latter did provide a noticeable separation of instruments on well-recorded acoustic material. There is very little background noise from the amplification and I found that I could easily walk beyond 30 feet and not experience any breakup from the Bluetooth connection. Controls on the right earcup are logically placed and work well. A 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable is included for connection to a standard headphone output on an audio device and I have found that many vendors offer alternate cables if one wanted something longer or heavier than what is included. Noise reduction is quite good as I have worn these extensively in a noisy office environment and they permit me to focus much better on my work. Even if a person owns a previous generation of Bose Quiet Comfort headphones or earbuds, these might have enough advances to be worth of consideration as an upgrade.

Amazing listening experience!!

As a long time Bose user I was not surprised with the quality of these headphones, or by how quickly I fell in love with the QC Ultra headphones. I usually tend to gravitate towards their noice cancelling earbuds, since I’m on the shorter side, and most headphones feel overwhelming on me. That was not an issue I had with these headphones. Although they appear to be relatively similar in size to other headphones on the market, they are very lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended periods on time. They don’t have that bulky feel!! Pair that with their new immersive audio feature and easy touch controls, and I found myself losing track of time while doing mundane things like cleaning or running errands. It did take a minute to get used to the controls, but once I got the hang of them, they felt very natural. As an avid audiobook listener, it made my reading experience 100% better. The immersive audio helped me get lost in my books, where it felt more like the book was being read just to me, not at me. I knew music would sound amazing on the QC Ultra headphones, but this was an unexpected, but awesome bonus. I honestly couldn’t be happier or more impressed by these new headphones.

Better than the NC700's!

I received the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones in early October and have been using them daily ever since. I have used them both inside and outside and I use them both as wireless Bluetooth headphones and also wired on my DAC/Headphone AMP setup on my computer. The overall sound signature is pleasant with a bit more bass than my previous NC700's. In terms of sound stage, it has a fairly narrow sound stage that doesn't compete to my audiophile Sennheiser headphones but I don't think they were trying to get to that level. So in terms of immersion, I feel that the QC Ultra headphones are a hit and miss. Some songs benefit from the Bose Music App Immersion mode and some do not. I feel that classical music sometimes benefits from it, while alternative and rock music don't seem to sound right when using it. I will be going on a flight this upcoming week and I'm looking forward to testing out the noise cancelling while on the plane. If I were to guess, they are as good if not better than my previous Bose headphones the NC700's. Overall, these seem to be a good pair of headphones for most listeners.

Immersive audio is awesome!!

I love the immersive feature the most about these headphones. It really makes the music standout and seems as if you’re listening to a surround sound system. My favorite is immersive audio with quiet mode and I can listen to salsa music, alternative, and classical music. With instrumental music the sound is exceptional.
The design is different but the buttons are easier to use and remember than the QC45.
The headphones are comfortable and don’t ever hurt your head or feel too tight. I do have to take them off every couple of hours to scratch my ear which I think is normal.
The immersive feature I would not recommend using in public so that you can be aware of your surroundings. You can use immersive in aware and it still sounds great with your surroundings.
The bass is a lot stronger than prior Bose headphones when you play around with the EQ settings.
Overall, the spatial audio immersive feature and the increased bass make these headphones worth it.

Try only if you want to step up the listening game

On my first try, I couldn't close my mouth with the music quality coming out from this device. Even watching youtube commercials was fun to listen because it's just whole different experience that you feel like you are in that space and hearing like almost the real sound.
After few minutes of trying this new device, I had to ask everyone in my family to try it out, and all of them didn't want to take it off and was listening to their favorite music. My son is playing Cello and making his way to become more professional level, and this headphone actually helped so much to hear more detailed play from the classical music side as well.
FYI, of course this is not my first device and I used so many headphones and earphones / earbuds because I travel a lot domestically and internationally. So far I've been using many different products from different brands like Apple, Sony, Status, B&O, and etc, and this is the far best headphone I ever tried.
In short, It's very hard to describe this 'WOW'ing experience with the words, but it almost feels like you were listening to the radio, and all the sudden you get into this luxurious space with the high end audio sound devices.
I stronly stronly recommend anyone try this headphone since Bose is offering 90 day risk free trial and I'm sure you would feel the same.

Won’t disappoint

I ordered a pair of QC Ultra headphones about a month ago for a trip. However they arrived late. Once I was home and got to try them out I wasn’t disappointed. These are great! They are very comfortable to wear and the sound is great.
