My fandom of Bose goes all the way back to the QC1s (I've had QC3s and QC15s, too). Currently I already own a pair of the QC45s, so I'm going to give my thoughts about the Ultras in comparison to those. The Ultras are a bit heavier, and everything about them feels more solidly built, including the cushioning on the ear cups and the headband. The sound overall is fuller and better than the QC45s and the Immersive options are really pleasing to listen through (though don't layer Immersive with Dolby Atmos - gets a little too weirdly spatial if you do that). The mic also seems to be better quality for phone calls than the QC45s, and the streamlined controls are cool.
My nit-picky observations are as follows. Because they are slightly heavier and the cushions are thicker, they feel slightly hotter on my head. Also, because they are more solidly built, adjusting the size of the headband is a little stiffer. Not a big deal, but I have a big head and I like being able to put on the QC45s and easily pull the cups in place. I kinda miss having a separate button on the left cup for scrolling through the NC and Immersive settings, instead of it being shared functions on one button on the right. Also, I can't decide if I like the volume slider or if i miss the more granular control with two buttons - in any case, the slider does work flawlessly so no real issue. Lastly, as much as I love the general sound and experience of listening through the Immersive settings, I have to say there is a lag in the Motion setting when you turn your head. Instead of staying in a fixed position in the sound field (the "sweet spot"), when you turn your head, the sound kinda floats/follows you a hair late. To be honest, it makes me almost feel a little dizzy. I'm really hoping Bose adds a setting where the sound field doesn't lag behind your head turn - I would definitely add that 5th star if that happens.
Overall, another solid, great sounding product and the best sounding of all the models I've owned over the years. I will probably always grab these before my QC45s just because of the sound and the Immersive audio settings.

The new QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are quite impressive! These headphones use special technology called Immersive Audio to make your music feel like it's surrounding you, giving a more immersive experience. They also have Qualcomm's Snapdragon Sound Technology, which makes your music sound great and lets you connect to multiple devices at the same time, so it’s great for bouncing back and forth between my devices for work.
But what's really cool is that these headphones can automatically adjust how much noise cancellation you need, so your music isn't interrupted by loud sounds or colleagues. Plus, they have the best noise cancellation around. The Ultra headphones are the upgraded version of the QuietComfort 45, offering top-notch sound quality and noise cancellation, perfect for use while traveling, working, or just enjoying music at home… gives me a nice break from the kid’s loud tv shows!
They have some handy features, like fast Bluetooth pairing and a long 24-hour battery life on a single charge. And you can control them easily with buttons on the earcup.
The buttons and build do not feel cheap, so if you're after top-quality headphones with excellent noise cancellation and sound, they're definitely worth the investment. I am wholeheartedly an Apple fan, and I truly love these.

A little about me: I’m a huge music junkie; my tastes run from “OMG you have to listen to this” to “Yeah. I know. Don’t judge me.” Additionally, I work from home and use headphones in meetings, or listen to music/podcasts when I’m not. I was using Bose 700’s and a fruit brand of earbuds. Suffice to say, I’m wearing some form of speaker on/in my ears for 10-12 hours a day at minimum.
Form factor: 10/10, great design, having the slide mechanism internal to the band is a nice change over the 700’s.
Comfort: 10/10, amazing! The pressure from the band isn’t as intense as the 700’s because they aren’t as tapered near the bottom of the ear cup. They’re also lighter which is fabulous for all day wear.
Sound: let’s turn this up to an 11/10. The immersive audio is awesome, it brought out elements of songs I hadn’t noticed before. Additionally, when adding a dac and wired connection, the audio quality from the switch to lossless was fabulous.
Phone Calls/MS Teams: worked really well for work related meetings. No complaints about audio quality, and I didn’t hear anyone say I sounded like I was in a tunnel.
Wishlist! * Capability to mute the microphones from the headphones themselves rather than from the device I’m listening from. I had an “Oops, I thought I was muted” moment on a meeting. * A setting to mute the announcement of the names of connected devices. The name my company gave my laptop is 16 randomized letters that I can’t change.

The new Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones are a game changer. The innovative spatialized audio is amazing (you are surrounded by sound), and the noise cancellation is the best I have experienced. I have used them for video chats, music, movies, and podcasts and have been blown away. I recommend these to anyone looking for top-notch audio quality. You will not be disappointed.

Ok, as far as sound quality goes, these are the best Bose has made thus far and I’ve had a lot of Bose headphones. I use headphones in bed to watch tv while my husband is sleeping, around the house while I’m cleaning and at the gym while working out. These are hands down, amazing sound. The sound seems to move with you like surround sound. It also has three levels: aware, noise cancelling and immersive sound. Immersive sound is the new one and it’s incredible. I can’t hear anything around me when that mode is on and I love it! The headset itself is very comfortable. The new volume slide is a little weird and takes some getting used to but it works very well. I also love that you can double click the button to skip to the next track. Overall, I highly recommend these headphones. I do wish they came in other colors but that’s it. They’re amazing.

I love these headphones. I have the 700’s and I would definitely say these are an upgrade as far as function and comfort. They are lighter and fit more comfortable on my head for long periods of time. Also the controls are mixed between using the button for the play/pause controls while still using the swipe strip for volume controls which I think is a great change. The immersive audio is the newest addition to these headphones and I would have to say its not for me and its probably not for everyone. There is an echoing sound when it comes to vocals with singers and dialogue when watching movies. It’s a nice feature when listening to loud bands if you want to feel like you are at a concert or get lost in some music at the gym but overall I found myself turning off this function. Overall I love these headphones and I think they are an upgrade, but for the price compared to the 700’s I would say that if you want great sound at a cheaper price, the 700’s are the better option.

Truly Amazing Headphones!!

I would like to start my review by saying, I knew I loved Bose products, but now I really understand why I love Bose Products. The Bose Quiet comfort Ultra Headphones are in a class of their own. I want to start by saying the quality of the headphones are amazing, since I received my headphones I dropped them at least four times and not one scratch nicked the surface. I am an Art teacher and in my classroom there is this loud noisy air conditioner that annoys me all day and sometimes I just need a break from the noise. Well I brought my headphones to school and put them on during my break just to drown out the noise. These head phones did more than drown out the noise, when I used the feature Immersion on the Bose app all the noise went away. I could not hear anything except the sound of the music coming from my headphones. This feature is by far my most favorite of them all. I pretty much used my headphones to grocery shop, bike ride, clean around the house, lounge around and they pretty much replaced my Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds. I don’t even use my earbuds anymore, I love these so much. Overall for all the things I use my headphones for, these are truly innovative, Bose is still the only brand I use for my sound systems including my sound bars. I made the switch over a decade ago and I will not be going backwards!! Waiting on them to make a cell phone, then I will be complete!!
Cons:
One con I would be, when using these headphones I did not like how hard it was to use the shortcut feature on the headphones themselves. I tried several times to set it up, but it just would not work for me, so I just ended up using the app to change modes and use other settings.
Another con was the initial set up, there were no clear directions on how to turn the headphones on so it took me about ten minutes to figure out how to turn them on, because I could not set them up in the Bose app until they were on and detected. After that, everything else was a breeze.
Pros:
On Pro would be the Bose app, I love how there were pictures and a brief description when setting up my headphones. I also liked the demo feature on the app and I was able to test the sound before using my headphones was. The app itself is simple, yet impactful it is jammed packed with features to play around with.
Another Pro would be the sound and comfort of the headphones I love how light and airy the headphones are, sometimes I forget I have them on because they are so comfortable. Also, the sound is top tier, while listening to my music, watching YouTube or movies I feel like I am in a theater or a party. The sound is so clear and smooth, the bass is amazing and doesn’t hurt my ears and my headphones are a true next level Bose product that definitely is worth every penny.
Last pro would be the aware feature that let me make phone calls and I could hear myself talk and har everything outside of my headphones. At first I did not know how to use this feature and when I took my first call I could not hear myself talking and it felt like my ears were compressed, but when I figured out how to use this feature I was able to make phone calls as normal. Truly genius of Bose to separate the Aware and Immersive features. Whenever I want to hear my music and don’t want to hear what is going on outside of my headphones, then I turn on the immersive feature. I can either set it to still or motion and the motion is amazing because it truly feels like the music is following you wherever you go!!

I love how easy it is to use. The sound quality and noise cancellation definitely met my expectation! And you can use the bose music app to change the modes for your headphone!
